We are pleased to present this 1986 Porsche 911 Turbo upgraded by RUF.  Finished in Guards Red over a Grey Beige leather interior, this U.S.-market 1986 example is accompanied by an official letter from RUF certifying authentic modifications including RUF instrumentation and a 3.4 L BTR-spec engine with an upgraded turbocharger and intercooler.  With just over 37k miles currently shown on the odometer, this highly unique Porsche 930 is now being offered for auction in outstanding overall condition by its seller in Florida.

The Guards Red finish is said to be in excellent original condition, please see the photo gallery for detailed images.  Aside from the RUF rear designation, this 930 remains stock in its appearance with a factory widebody, front and rear spoilers, black stone guards, and Fuchs wheels which are currently dressed in newer Bridgestone Potenza RE11 tires sized 205/55R16 front and 245/45R16 rear.

The Grey Beige leather interior features a black dashboard and factory power Sport Seats.  Other factory options include an electric sliding sunroof, heated seats, and an alarm system.  RUF VDO instrument gauges have been installed including a boost controller, and the original Blaupunkt “Monterey” radio is said to be fully functional along with all other gauges and accessories.  The sunroof headliner has begun to sag, although the cabin is said to be in otherwise fantastic shape.

This 930 is equipped with a RUF BTR-spec 3.4 L flat-six engine featuring an upgraded K27 turbocharger and a larger RUF intercooler.  A claimed output of 374 HP is sent to the rear wheels by way of a factory 4-speed manual gearbox with limited slip differential.  A letter from RUF confirming the authenticity of the upgrades is available for reference in the photo gallery along with the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.  This Turbo is said to be in excellent running order, free of any outstanding maintenance items.

This sale will include 1 key, the original owners’ manuals, a letter from RUF, and a Porsche COA.  Showcasing rare and desirable RUF upgrades while remaining in exceptional condition, this 930 makes the perfect addition to any discerning enthusiast's collection.

@Jahan Hello, unfortunately we haven’t been able to get the paint meter. We don’t know exactly when or where was the RUF conversion performed, but we could ask RUF to get that information.

Hi: Still waiting for undercarriage pictures and paint meter readings. When 3as the conversion done?
    Thanks

  • drjoe356 4 yearsago

@BrainSrgn Ditto on this. More documentation concerning the conversion (when, where, who, mileage?) will greatly assist in establishing the value of this car. The BTRs are generally wonderfully reliable as long as the usually included Boost Knob is not screwed down too tight (actually included so you could reduce boost in the rain).

  • BrainSrgn (registered bidder) 4 yearsago

Was the RUF conversion work done at the Factory in Pfaffenhausen Germany or somewhere else? I saw the picture of the letter however it does not state where the work was actually done.

    Thanks
