The Porsche 911 Turbo made its return to the U.S. market in 1986, introducing the newly incorporated Bosch LE-Jetronic fuel injection system. Powered by a 3.3-liter flat-six engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, this 1986 example comes finished in Moss Green Metallic over brown leather upholstery and rides on Gotti wheels finished in gold and silver. Showing just over 30k miles on the odometer, this sought-after 930 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
In contrast to the standard 911 Carrera, the 930 Turbo distinguishes itself with flared fenders designed to house wider wheels and tires, complemented by a front air dam and an iconic Tea Tray rear spoiler. This example presents a Moss Green Metallic finish and Gotti wheels painted gold and silver. Detailed images are available in the gallery, accompanied by a CARFAX report indicating minor damage. The seller provides additional context, explaining that a short in the starter and wiring harness led to the engine's removal for repair. However, this incident was inaccurately reported to the insurance, resulting in the damage referenced on CARFAX. The seller adds that an accompanying repair invoice is provided in the gallery.
The cabin presents brown upholstery with a matching headliner and carpeting. Amenities include power windows and door locks, air conditioning, a cassette stereo, and 930-branded floor mats. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly. The CARFAX report shows potential mileage inconsistencies, however, the seller contests that the car's odometer is accurate.
Power is derived from a turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine and provides up to 282 HP and 289 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. It features large brakes derived from the 917 race car, along with sturdier shock absorbers and thicker rear torsion bars than those found in a standard 911 Carrera. The seller notes an aftermarket exhaust system has been fitted by Black Forest, and the car has been regularly serviced.
This sale will include a spare tire, a car cover, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Completely babied car. Never raced or tracked. Kept garaged and although not a daily driver, driven just enough to keep in regular order for a Porsche. Always regular service, and maintenance. Addressed any issue as it can up. This car is very unique with a color combo. The paint and wheel combination is extremely unique and stock, original. In July 2020 a short in the starter melted the wiring harness there was no fire and I took the car to Black Forest Automotive on Engineer Road in San Diego. There was no damage to the car it was in for repair of the wiring harness. Black Forest Automotive does not have a body shop or a paint facility. I filed a claim with Liberty Mutual Insurance, and since the car was in the garage at my home when the incident occurred Liberty Mutual allowed for coverage. On page one of the Liberty Mutual report top left states that it was a 16 non-collision. Since there was an insurance claim Carfax and their wisdom called it a damage report. They are incorrect and have refused to change the report. The Black Forest repair was done with all Porsche parts available, and there have been no issues with the car due to the excellent repair. Dennis."

@aga1327
Photo 126/137 shows an invoice dated 2022 with a recommendation by the shop to replace the engine wiring harness; can you chime in on this as no invoice can be seen that lists the repair for the short in the starter that melted the wiring harness as stated in the sellers comments, pls elaborate or reference an invoice where it shows the matter has been addressed?
@aga1327 Ah thanks re the fader knob, mine had one but was a thumb wheel, anyway was bypassed once I upgraded the audio.
For prospective buyers. We have received the correction from Carfax on the mileage reporting error. Thanks Carfax.

@vichang4 it is for the radio fader back to front
@Billythemountain pretty cool. Yes the wheel has been replaced and exhaust. We have both original.
The steering wheel is not stock, should have been a raised-hub, and the exhaust looks aftermkt as well, should be a twin pipe. These are minor points and do not necessarily detract from the car's fab stance and overall look. That said, I have never, ever, seen leather gloves on outdoor mirrors, it's almost, um, Hannibal Lecter-ish.
Additional interior photos have been added to the listing gallery.

@vichang4 I’m checking.
@Billythemountain , I had an 87 turbo with no such knob. Maybe an aftermarket radar detector controller?
@Carlsonroad thank you!
@airpower it’s ok, thanks. When $$ are involved questions will be asked. I jumped in the Porsche a few minutes ago for a cold start and just like new! Bam beautiful.
@shamansky thanks for your remarks. The mileage, the mileage stated is accurate.
Really stunning turbo. Seller may not be able to address the speedometer repair but it certainly raises a question regarding the actual mileage. Every 911 owner knows how fragile these are, and it may have been repaired immediately. Who knows?
Bid in the amount of $76,000
What is the little knob on the console between the hazard lights and rear window defrost switches, a cig lighter? I had an '86 sold last yr but didn't have any such thing. Else, lovely car, Gottis and all, GLWTS.
I stand corrected, thank you for the clarification.
Gorgeous car! Don’t think it deserves some of these comments…but the haters hate…. Must be frustrating to have your car bashed… only one way to play this, keep it!
@Porsche_Man You should read documents carefully before you comment about something like the validity of an odometer reading. Photo's 113, 114, and 115 clearly state that 33K is the next service... not the current mileage.
@Porsche_Man - if you read those invoices, you can plainly see that the mileage you are referring to is listed under "Next Service Due". The actual mileage is listed above and is in the 20s on those invoices.
@aga1327 - what an absolute stunner!! Literally stopped me in my tracks. Gotta be hard to part with this beauty!
@Porsche_Man the odometer has not been rolled back. The current mileage is 30,267.
Photo 113, 114 and 115 list the mileage at 33K - auction shows 30K on the odometer. Has the odometer been rolled back?
@aga1327 I pulled the build sheet from NHTSA but if is vague with no more applicable info then already posted. Thought it would be more informative.
@Spazaz88 working on it but difficult so far.
Page 130 states it was sold new through Prestige Imports in Colorado. Believe it or not they are still around under same name almost 40 years later. I called them and spoke with Warren in service who was very nice. He ran the VIN and confirmed it was old new through their dealership. Unfortunately he was unable to pull the build sheet and only could view the Carfax (which we already have here). Maybe somebody with some pull at Porsche NA can get a build sheet if seller cannot provide.
Bid in the amount of $75,000
@aga1327 - they are not on the COA. Nor is generic special wishes reference. Nor reference to special edition. So dealer package or not real.
@GrandNatty moss green and metallic were special order. Gotti wheels also were special order if you refer to another reply there were 25 ordered specially in 1986.
@GrandNatty if it’s sold in California it will pass. Runs perfect. Any other state is a no brainer.
@GrandNatty pretty simple to see the mistake and all additional receipts follow mileage in correct order.. will have correction with carfax in days.
@aga1327 - also clear Hollywood Speedo repair receipt, so why would we believe mileage is accurate. This is usually a BIG red flag for miles (Kudos for posting it).
@aga1327 - few things please 1) reference to the factory moss green/gotti factory run? Never heard of such. Porsche was delivering on 16" Fuchs in 86. 2) Will it pass CA emissions? I see it's on AZ plates.
@vengerider sorry interior is brown and wow! Like new. He had sheepskins on it and that’s always a red flag but after I took them off it was amazing
@vengerider this Porsche was one of 25 special ordered and one of one delivered with the moss green exterior and original Gotti wheels. They are stock and in excellent condition. the paint is original and in perfect condition. The only upgrades were the steering wheel and exhaust system. We have both of the originals.
@vengerider ok will do
This is one of the best Porsche color combinations I have seen! <3 <3
@aga1327 I hit return too fast! But can you also post a picture of the option sitcker under the hood?
@aga1327 Paint meter would be greatly appreciated. Gotti wheels were never offered from the factory so at some point the original Fuchs were replaced with these. Also, Can you confirm the interior is brown as in the description? They look burgandy but could be the lighting. Thank you.
The paint and wheels are original . The car has never been painted. I can see about getting reading if an absolute
@Autotrend Can you provide paint meter readings? Also, assuming original wheels are not included?
@aga1327 just verifying on tires. Both front and rear are available currently through Discount tires in Pirelli and other brands.
@Autotrend appreciate your comment. Yes the tires are over 7 years old although no cracking or significant wear due to storage. The rear Pirellis are still available through Discount tire and the fronts, Cooper tires as well. Thanks. Researching Gotti Wheels. They are in excellent condition but respecting your comment.
Bid in the amount of $20,930
unfortunately those tires do not exist anymore! and the date codes on the ones on the car are so old they would be dangerous to use. do not mean to be a problem maker, but the truth is the truth. i own auto trend high performance tire and wheel (i was a gotti dealer). a completely new set of wheels and tires need to be bought for this car. just be aware of this fact when bidding .IT IS A LOVELY CAR! it just needs new wheels as tires wide enough are not sold anymore..
Bid in the amount of $1,986
Very cool.
I will be uploading additional service records, documents, cert. of authenticity etc. All German Auto is assisting with this sale for the owner through Pmarket.
