This 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa was initially ordered and acquired by its original owner at the factory in Germany through Porsche’s Tourist Delivery program. Finished in black over matching interior upholstery, the car was optioned with 15” Fuchs forged alloy wheels, automatic speed control, and a central locking system. Showing approximately 176k miles on the odometer, this one-owner Targa is now being offered for auction by the selling dealer out of Maryland.
Factory-specified in Black, this example has since undergone refinishing in select areas, along with body repairs, in June 2024. Equipment includes a removable black roof panel, a black Targa bar, a heated glass dome rear window, headlamp washers, integrated fog lights, impact bumpers, and 15” Fuchs forged alloy wheels wrapped in tires from 2013. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black interior was fitted with new seat upholstery in June 2024. Amenities include power windows, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated and electrically adjustable side mirrors, a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, and a premium speaker system. All gauges and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order with the exception of the air conditioning system.
Power comes from an air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine factory-rated 207 HP and 192 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transaxle. In June 2024, at 176,186 miles, service included an engine oil and filter change, transmission fluid and brake fluid flush, valve adjustment, and replacement of the spark plugs, engine air filter, fuel filter, valve cover gaskets, oil lines and hose, drive belts, shift rod coupling, and drive axle seals. Suspension work included new front and rear stabilizer links and bushings, front strut inserts, rear shock absorbers, and front lower ball joints. The braking system received new pads, rotors, and hoses at all four corners. Additional work included a new steering rack assembly, hood struts, four-wheel alignment, and both compression and cylinder leak-down tests.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, sales literature, and original importation documents.
The seller would like you to know: “This car has been loved and enjoyed across the USA by its original owner and his wife. This is a very well-sorted 911T and will make a great fit for any enthusiast’s garage!”

It looks like it’s sitting a little high in the back. Is there a problem with it?
Hello all, as we come down to the final minutes of this listing, I would like to reinforce a few important points:
Again, this is a one-owner car that we are representing on his behalf. Excellent engine compression and leak down results. Over 13k was recently spent in preparation for its sale. Incredible documentation from new.
Overall, an excellent condition and honest 911.
Thank you all for the questions and enthusiasm and happy bidding!

@dday930 There is no history of damage or accident related repairs according to the original owner.
@Julean73 The Targa bar was repainted and both rear quarter panels were refinished in 2024. Based on the paint meter readings, it appears the entire car was repainted at some point in its life. I will
upload the readings now. The car has been driven around 20 miles since last year. Thank you.
@WcLp1911 In which photo are you seeing the targa frame rusted? I'm missing that.
Car presents VERY well for the mileage- Clean and solid- Hope the drivetrain is just as good. But that driver side rear tail light is a standout- Was there damage in the rear quarter causing the misalignment? Looks like an early model lens may have been used with the offsetting trim color. GLWTA!!
What part of the body has been repaired and how much paint work has been done? How well has the paint been blended? How much is original paint? How many miles has the car been driven since 2024?

@chrisl911 Just above the comments section there is a gray button that says contact seller. :)
@slantnose505 @chrisl911 - If only I could figure out how to do that. Can you give me a hint? Thanks
@chrisl911 Hello, please send us a direct message. Thank you.
@slantnose505 I'd also like to take a look at it. I'm in McLean. Chris

@tommeron There was not a source indicated nor was there a recommended solution. The car starts, runs, and drives as it should. Thank you.

@WcLp1911 The A/C ceased functioning 10 years ago and the owner elected to not have it repaired. Thank you.
@Julean73 The results of the leak down test are in the gallery on its associated service invoice. The targa top does not leak and there are no signs of it having leaked. The driving videos were taken last week. Thank you.
@WcLp1911 The engine and transmission are dry. I will upload images of the underside after the car sat unused for the weekend. Thank you.
@CTLax The car has been in storage, periodically driven and moved as the original owner marketed the car.
@WcLp1911 There is no rust present and the seals are in good order considering their age. I have updated additional photos of these items to the listing. Thank you.
@ascarcelle The car is 100% original apart from the radio head unit.
I would like information on why the AC doesn't work. Please and thank you.
Bid in the amount of $16,750
Do you have the results of the leak down testing? How recent are the 3 videos and pictures that are showing in this add ? Do the targa tops leak?
If the car sat for a year or was rarely driven I would have concerns about seal and gasket shrinkage and fluid weeping or leakage.
Please respond seller.
Thanks
@slantnose505 it appears as though the owner’s letter was signed just over a year ago (June 2024), which is when the restoration work was done in preparation for sale. Also, it appears as though the car has not been driven in a year. Can you explain the time lag? Was the car for sale outside of this auction over the past year?
Truly a black beauty.
It appears that the Targa top frame is rusted and that the seals require replacement. Wonder if it has suffered from leakage. Please provide close-ups of both Targa frame, seals and top of windscreen.
Thanks
Seller comments?
is everything orginal? no aftermarket replacements that will devalue the car?

@seller was there any indication given of the leak source(s) from the leak down test? (rings, valves, cylinder-to-head seal…). And was there any recommended action?
Bid in the amount of $15,750
@aircooledguyks We do not have an invoice from that reported service.
@slantnose505 thanks for the update. Any paperwork on the clutch?
@aircooledguyks The original owner has informed us that the engine is all original and has never had any internal repairs done.
He believes the clutch was once replaced at apox. 100k miles. The clutch currently performs very well with no chatter or slippage. Thank you.

Hi, wondered if any head work was done or clutch replaced in the past.
@Peki928 Yes, please contact me directly.
Hello all and welcome to the listing of our gorgeously preserved 911! We are representing this gem on behalf of its original owner. After taking German delivery on a vehicle tourist visa, the car was enjoyed in Maryland. Prior to showcasing it to the public, the car was throughly serviced and inspected (see service invoices in the gallery) so that its 2nd and next owner can enjoy it with confidence.
Feel free to ask questions as I will be monitoring the comments section over the next 7 days.
Thank you and happy bidding!
