We are pleased to offer this 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe finished in Moss Green Metallic over a Cadbury Brown interior. Sold new from Parktown Porsche of Kirkwood Missouri, this 911 spent life in Illinois before moving to the West Coast in 2016 under the prior ownership. The 1986 model year saw the last of the 911s to have been equipped with a 915 5-speed manual gearbox and marked the introduction of the larger interior air vents seen on later air-cooled cars of the 964/993 generations. In addition to its rare factory color combination, this Carrera benefits from over $10k worth of service carried out within the last year including the installation of new tires, Bilstein HD struts and shocks, a Dansk sport muffler, new sensors, intake manifold gaskets, fluid changes, an overhaul of the A/C system, custom restored Fuchs wheels, and much more. Well preserved with its numbers matching drivetrain, this 1986 example is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Florida with approximately 57k miles showing on the odometer.
This Carrera comes finished in Moss Green Metallic (Y8), a rare special-order paint color offered during the mid-1980s. Removable vinyl stripes have been added along each side of the car as well as custom gold rear lettering, new yellow-tinted Euro fog lights, and upgraded OEM H4 headlights. An extensive paint correction treatment has been recently carried out followed by a triple application of CarPro CQuartz UK 3.0 ceramic coating by the specialists at Parkhaus1. Some signs of road-going wear are present on the front end and the car's paint is said to remain all original apart from the hood which was recently refinished to address a scratch, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report. The factory date-stamped 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels have been custom restored with Weissach Gold painted centers and dressed in a set of new Hankook Ventus tires within the last 1,500 miles.
Inside, you will find a very well-kept Cadbury Brown partial leather interior with an original Blaupunkt Monterey radio and a set of custom palomino sisal Coco floor mats. Factory options include a passenger-side Comfort Seat, cruise control, alarm system, and an electric sliding sunroof. The sunroof seals have been replaced, the original radio was restored by the prior owner, and the A/C was recently overhauled with new lines, a Spal fan, and Griffiths condenser. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional and the seller notes that the seats, dashboard, air vents, door pockets, and carpeting all remain in excellent condition.
This 911 derives power from its original air-cooled 3.2L flat-six engine that drives the rear wheels through a numbers matching 5-speed 915 manual gearbox. In the last year, the engine has been serviced with a new 02 sensor, cylinder head temperature sensor, solid-state DME relay, new intake manifold gaskets, belts, and a refurbished DME unit by Steve Wong. Other items recently carried out include the installation of new Bilstein HD shocks and struts, an upgraded Dansk sport muffler, an oil and transmission fluid change, brake service, four-wheel alignment, and new Elephant Racing front suspension bushings. Images of the undercarriage and case stampings can be found in the gallery.
This sale will include a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, service records, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, spare tire, air pump, jack, and a clean title. This beautifully configured and thoroughly sorted air-cooled Carrera is just waiting for a new owner, do not miss your chance to get behind the wheel.

As promised to a few bidders, I have purchased a new OEM period correct rear Carrera emblem for the winner to use at their discretion. Personally, I like cars with super hero identities. Lol
@UpNorthMN Good morning! You know the old saying about aircooled Porsches? "If it's not leaking oil it's because there is no oil in the engine." Just kidding. There are NO significant leaks to my knowledge, and there are NO oil stains on my garage floor, either. Undercarriage photos were taken last week and show the current condition of the mechanical seals. In the photos, you will notice the car has new oil lines as well, which was done to address some sweating at the connections. The car was not cryo-detailed on purpose to present the undercarriage condition in it's original state AND preserve the original factory cosmoline sealant on the engine and tranny. I see too many lisitngs with impeccable cryodetailed engines that leak as soon as you start driving the car. Overall, this is a very dry car.
Seller, could you tell us if this beautiful Carrera has any oil leaks at this time?
Thanks!
Bid in the amount of $51,000
@Fury996 Glad you liked it! It was a pleasure to meet you. Thanks for taking the time to see the car.
@Fury996 thanks for the reply. Yes it’s at my top budget too for an 86. Cheers
@991.1GT3 We drove it yesterday. The 915 felt normal to me. All gears engaged smoothly. I’ve driven a few 915’s and this one felt better than most. Car is beautiful in person. Unfortunately, It’s already near my max budget. GLWA!
Did anyone drive this that went to see it? I’m curious on how it shifted. Being the 915 transmission…. The driving video there was lots of gas prior to and very slow. Can anyone confirm the engagement is smooth and not potentially any issues?

i bought a car from the seller and could not be happier, his attention to detail is incredible and it shows in this this amazing classic G-body. wish I could add one more unique and very special Porsche to my garage. GLWA
This incredible green 911 G body beauty has been taken care by one of the best 911 Aficionados I have met in years with great taste and knowledge on the 911 iconic Porsche History
I have spent many of hours with both the owner and the Green Hornet. I know them both well. As are all of his cars, this 3.2l 911 is meticulously cared for and maintained. Not only is the color combination rare, it suits the g-body’s generation well and will continue to mature beautifully. This is as clean as you will find. The next “steward” has quite the opportunity here. GLWS!

@gac-tc my pleasure. I hope those help! I don’t have any records on that work. Based on the engine sound, there is no valve chatter above the normal flat 6 sound.
Thanks for getting the sunroof photos. Have you found any history on valve adjustments?
@gac-tc SUNRROF PHOTOS AND VIDEO ARE UPLOADED. Video is fourth after the listing description. Photos are the last 4 in the set at the bottom of the page. Thanks.
@991.1GT3 The previous owner owned it in WA and CA since 2017, is my understanding. He bought a new 911 and needed garage space for the incoming car.
I know this car and from the cosmetic point of view it looks perfect to me inside and outside. More important, I also know the owner and how meticulous he is with everything (maintenance, upgrades, etc) related to his cars, and I'm pretty sure that this one is no exception.
For all who requested: I have located the original rear Carrera badge and ordered an additional new one for the next owner to use. The original badge is in perfect condition. It was removed during the detail work to appropriately polish the rear deck.
@991.1GT3 Typically, the buyer has this test performed with the PPI, if they request one. I will try to get one done, this weekend.
@gac-tc if you DM me your cell phone, I can text them to you right away. Use the MESSAGE option to send a private message.
@gac-tc The sunroof has a new seal. The sheet metal has no deformations. I have added the requested photos and videos of it operating correctly. As you know, the alignment of the 4 edges of the sunroof can be easily adjusted with 4 bolts underneath the headliner. To my eye it’s aligned correctly. Again, it has a new seal and it has been tested in the FL rain with NO LEAKS. Please give the moderators a day to upload the additional photos and videos.

Did you own this in California or just bought within the last year from there?
Can you perform a compression and leak down test?
Pic#57 shows the sunroof which appears to be a bit lower in the center of the front. If possible could you do a couple more pictures of the sunroof both opened and closed. Any info on the last valve adjustment?
@spinfree Thanks for your question. The car has limited records. Some stamps from new in the book and then consistent records since the previous owner. I do not have any documentation of a tranny rebuild. Having owned over seven 915 tranny Porsches, including a personally rebuilt unit, I can attest to the overall good condition of this gearbox. You can see me shifting in one of the videos. There is no grinding and all gears engage properly. Like any 915, shifts are light and precise when not forced and driven properly. I would rank it’s feel as an 8/10, where 10/10 is a brand new 915. It is not as fast shifting as a G50 and most issues occur when owners force the 915 box. I love these 915's because they are true Porsche transmissions and are so engaging. In my experience, mileage is not always indicative of clutch condition. By way of example, I purchased a 996 with 28K miles that needed a new clutch! I also had 3 G-bodies with over 80K miles with good clutches. I think it all comes down to the driver. Some tell-tale signs of clutch condition are pedal stiffness (more stiff when worn) and slippage when rapidly upshifting and accelerating from second to fourth or fifth at low speeds. On this car, NO slippage occurs under this test, and the clutch pedal is medium sprung NOT stiff. Clutch engagement occurs at mid-pedal travel, which is also consistent with good condition. I did have the clutch cable replaced with a brand new OEM set because the teflon coating gets old with the years. Thanks again for your question.
Any history of gearbox rebuilding or clutch work? If on the original clutch, and with 57k miles, I imagine a new clutch will be in the cards for the new owner relatively soon?
This is exactly the type of seller you want to buy a car from. Meticulous, understands the value of good maintenance and is detailed oriented. This is a no stories car that is well represented. Good luck with the sale.

I've seen this car in some cars and coffee events. It looks amazing!
Great paint and interior, but the whole car looks like a "Art Piece".
Good Luck to all Bidders!
What a lucky driver who ever ends up with this beauty. This car is as impeccable as the owner is very meticulous about its care. I have seen it many times on the road and it is always a head turner, and a hell of a driving machine.
Never driven it but from a cosmetic point of view is impeccable. Paint insanely good looking and rims in reality more than in pics match the whole car perfectly.
The car is top notch as all cars that Andres (the seller) has had.
I've seen this car in local Miami Porsche meets! The car is beautiful inside and out and the condition is near impeccable. I was specially impressed with the condition of the paint and the color. The interior was like new. Good luck to all bidders!
This is an amazing car! Concourse car imho! Hope it stays local!
I have seen this car in Miami. An outstanding example in a wonderful colour combo!

@ramielmansour you can also see the factory original cosmoline protection layer on many of the engine components, fan, etc. The condition of the ORIGINAL leather seats and steering wheel further supports the low mileage and meticulous care this car has received. Also, NO signs of rust were found anywhere during our refresh.
@ramielmansour Agree! Good stable mates. And the Gwagon can trailer the 911 for those long distance trips to the mountains.
@ramielmansour according to our inspection and paint meter, yes.
this would look great next to Everest green metallic gwagon :)
Original Paint & Panels?
@dose cheers and thank you! If you happen to be a war veteran, thanks so much for your service!
@amissair Thanks for the response, right on. It's very reminiscent of many patches/logos from a number of units during the Iraq years, so I had to ask. Great pull for a car club.
Appreciate the clarification on the bar. I don't know these 3.2's all that well, hadn't noticed this detail before. Thanks again and GLWA, I'm sure this car will do great. If it doesn't balloon too much, maybe you'll hear from me in a week!
@dose To clarify, the crossed sword logo is an adaptation of the Meissen logo, one of the oldest ceramic workshops from Germany. It was modified to appear as 2 V’s, for Vintage Vices.
@dose LOL! The crossed swords are for the 4 Musketeers, a reference we use for the founders of Vintage Vices, our local classic porsche club in Miami. I’m one of the 4 founders. You can check us out on IG @vintage.vices The black bar under the front valence is standard factory issue from Porsche to protect the front AC condensener located immediately beneath, under the perforated mesh panel. Completely stock and original to this model/car.
Thanks! A couple other questions after looking the photos over:
I've not seen a bar like that under the front lip before. Have any background on it?
Those crossed swords look familiar. Spend some time in Iraq? Did the car? =)
@dose Thanks for your question. Yes, I should be able to find it in my storage. The vinyl lattering was applied after paint correction and on top of the CQuartz application. Therefore, it’s very easy to remove.
Beautiful car. Any chance the original lettering from the rear deck is available?
This is a rare example of a low-mile unmolested 1986 Carrera in original paint. Moss Green and Cadbury are extremely rare colors for this model. 1984-86 is the only years that the original Porsche 915 transmission was mated to the 3.2 engine, yielding a final drive ratio that makes this generation very responsive in low and mid range RPMs when compared to later generations. 1986 is also the only year this combination was found in a car with the more modern big AC vents of the 964/993 models.
The car is in exceptional original condition inside and out. We focused on showcasing and preserving this originality during its mild restoration and technical refresh. From the original working blaupunkt radio to the bumpers, the car retains it’s factory look and functionality. Paint correction was done over a 10 day period by master detailers at Parkhaus1, moving slowly in stages while paint metering to ensure the original paint was not compromised. The only panel that was in need of a respray was the hood, due to a deep scratch in the middle. Even the bumpers were left with the original paint. Mechanically, we focused on addressing all maintenance issues and adding some performance to the AC system to cope with the Florida heat. The only performance mods we decided to add was the sport muffler and H4 headlights for improved safety. All work was performed by Porsche technicians using Porsche parts. I hope you enjoy the end result! Happy bidding!
