This RoW-specification 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe was imported to the Netherlands in 1997 and underwent a comprehensive “Classic RS” backdate restoration by Paul Geeris Porsche beginning in 2013. Modified with long-hood bodywork including an RSR front valence and a ducktail rear spoiler, the car features a custom black interior with RS-style door panels, Recaro Pole Position bucket seats, a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, and a CAE short shifter. The 3.2-liter flat-six engine has been rebuilt and fitted with PMO carburetors and 993 camshafts, generating an estimated output of 250 HP. The car is also equipped with lightweight Lexan windows, projector headlamps, a Brantz 2S rally computer, Sparco safety harnesses, Koni shock absorbers, electric power steering, and 16” Braid Fuchs-style wheels. Featured as the cover article for Youngtimer magazine in January 2015, this Carrera 2.7 RS-inspired 911 backdate was imported to the U.S. in 2023 and is now being offered for auction out of North Carolina.

The car was completely dismantled during the restoration, and all chassis parts received either powder coating or KTL electrostatic dip coating, while the window frames were finished with a matte black KTL treatment. The bodywork was modified with a backdated long-nose hood and front fenders, an RSR-style front valence, a ducktail rear spoiler, and an RS-style rear bumper with a central exhaust outlet. The exterior is finished in Guards Red with black Carrera RS-style stripe decals. Equipment includes projector headlamps, Lexan windows, dual body-colored mirrors, drilled black door handles, a perforated black decklid grille, a sunroof, dual GT3-style muffler tips, and 16” Braid Fuchs-style wheels with Michelin Pilot Exalto tires from 2021. The seller adds that the exterior is in excellent condition and has been treated with a Modesta Glass coating. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The black interior features Recaro Pole Position bucket seats with corduroy inserts, RS-style door panels with red pull straps, an Alcantara-wrapped MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, and a body-colored half roll cage. Other accessories include a CAE short shifter, manual roll-up windows, a body-colored instrument panel and lower dashboard, red Sparco safety harnesses, a custom embroidered rear seat delete carpet, a Brantz 2 S rally computer, and dual digital timers. The air conditioning system and radio have been removed for weight savings. The seller notes that the odometer was reset to “0” following the restoration, and approximately 29,600 kilometers have been driven since.

The air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine was completely rebuilt by Paul Geeris in Heeze, Barbant, and modified with PMO carburetors and 993 camshafts. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a 5-speed 915 manual transaxle. The car has also been fitted with an electric rack-and-pinion steering system and upgraded Koni shock absorbers.

This sale will include a spare tire, a copy of the featured Youngtimer magazine article, a clean title, and a photo album documenting the build process.

The seller would like you to know: Thank you for visiting my auction. My friends at Porsche told me I had to see this car.  It was built to rally, but never was.  When I visited the new dealership in Deventer, Netherlands, it was on display in the showroom, looking brand new.  It became part of my personal collection. You may need to come see it to believe it.  I will have it with me at Luft 11 this weekend in Durham, North Carolina.”

@AdamNOC The parts are not available. I would recommend the Classic RetoFit system from the UK. Approx $11k installed. It is electric and saves weight and horsepower. It fits in the smugglers box and works much better than factory. We have installed 5 or 6 already

Are the removed AC parts included or separately available? What would be generally involved with putting AC back in the car?

Is the ac and heat functional?

@Glenn930 I believe that the crucial factor facilitating a No-Smog status in CA would be the chassis VIN and not the titled date. I’m at Luft 11 today, so I’ll look out for this fun car

I have just recently added 15 paint meter reading. Please note that the car has a Modesta Glass Coating (ceramic coating) which adds to the paint thickness.

@Glenn930 The hood & fenders came from DP Motorsport. The hood is Fiberglass & Kevlar. The fenders are steel and are directly bolted onto the factory positioned fastening points.

@Glenn930 Let me know if I can help you find that special car

  • Glenn930 3 days, 4 hoursago

@HedonMotors Can you comment in detail on the following replacements mentioned in the description “long-nose hood and front fenders” What are the materials, metal, fiberglass, carbon fiber etc ? What is the replacement fascinating system? Directly bolted on to factory positioned fastening points, welded, or fused on?

  • Glenn930 3 days, 4 hoursago

@HedonMotors thanks for your turbo fast reply. Since the car was restored with 1973 backdated styling, it’s too bad the import title was not backdated to 1973, which would relieve owners by not necessitating California registered cars to be emissions tested. That’s why California car enthusiasts love 💕 1973 and earlier vehicles.

  • HedonMotors (seller) 3 days, 5 hoursago

@Glenn930 The car already has a North Carolina Title, however you will need to check on registering in your state. If there is an issue, I can introduce you to someone in Montana who can help.

  • Glenn930 3 days, 9 hoursago

Thanks for your listing. Since the vehicle has been imported from outside the U.S., what is the status of the current title?
Has the car been registered yet in the states? If not, what would be the process to register in California or any other state considering the emissions testing requirements.

@Johnny3 I am not sure what the exact offset is, but the tires are Michelin Pilot Exalto, Front: 205/55 ZR 16 91Y and Rear: 225/50 ZR 16 92Y

Welcome to the auction of this exceptional 1986 Porsche 2.7 RS Backdate, a true collector's gem. I purchased the car from a dealership in the Netherlands in 2023. The car underwent a meticulous restoration between 2013 and its feature on the cover of Youngtimer Magazine in January of 2015, with renowned expert Paul Geeris contributing to the engine's rebuild. Maintained in pristine condition since completion, this Porsche is akin to a new car, with every detail meticulously attended to. Having been a part of my personal collection, it now presents an unparalleled opportunity for a discerning buyer to acquire a piece of automotive excellence. If you have any questions or would like further information, please don't hesitate to reach out.
