Up for auction is this 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet finished in Meteor Grey Metallic over a black partial leather interior. Featuring a 3.2L flat-six paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, this 1986 Carrera also features rare factory options including front and rear spoilers, Sport Shock Absorbers, and a shortened gear shift lever. A prime example of a classic air-cooled Cabriolet, this Carrera is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York with approximately 56k miles showing on the odometer.
This 911 came factory finished in Meteor Grey Metallic (L961) along with optional Turbo-style front and rear spoilers and a black Cabriolet top. Removable Porsche side graphics have been applied and the front bumper features integrated fog lights and headlamp washers. Some small cosmetic imperfections are depicted in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report. This 911 rides on upgraded 17” Fuchs wheels dressed in a set of Continental ExtremeContact tires.
The black partial leather interior features an optional steering wheel with an elevated hub, shortened gear shift lever, and central-locking system. Upgraded speakers have been installed and paired with a modern Bluetooth stereo. Split seams are depicted at the bottoms of each seat cushion and some wear is present on the driver’s outer bolster. The factory specifications label on the underside of the hood shows the following equipment codes:
This Carrera is equipped with an air-cooled 3.2L flat-six engine that sends up to 207 HP and 192 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed 915 manual gearbox. CARFAX shows service by Mercedes-Benz of Huntington in March of 2021 at 54,337 miles.
This sale will include the original owner’s manuals and a clean title. An excellent investment for any air-cooled enthusiast, this well-equipped and sparingly driven 1986 Cabriolet awaits its next caretaker.

@PCARMARKET_MODERATOR The service record for the March 2020 service mentioned on the car fax report will not be available?? Perhaps the most important.
Does the gearbox have any shifting issues still per the receipts for repair? There was a loud noise at the end of your driving video?
Service records have been added to the listing gallery.

Ok, since two days I didn't get an aswer, so I try it today once again.
" I believe that Porsche anti corrosion warranty is 12 years from day of delivery . i have never been asked that question of a old car "
I agree, you are absoltely right with your comment, but it could be a reference to good care of the first owner and the certificate of anti-rust warranty is not hard to find as it is part of the customer service booklet.
And second. the answer to this question is missung too:
- completed PORSCHE service booklet
@MezgerTT Yes , the 3 readings are the rear spoiler and deck lid . This is the original spoiler that came with the car .
Bid in the amount of $27,500
@Farmhouse27
Thank you for the paint meter readings, but since the photos are taking so close to the car it’s difficult to tell what panels you are metering. Can you tell us what panels read 3 mil and what panels are 5 mil. Thank you.

Sorry i forgot a very important question:
are the engine and the gearbox matching numbers??
@ Farmhouse27 (seller)
Hi, right now I found that the tires have the right size, the right speedinderx and the DOT is 2020. Thx so far.
Now only the answers to my other questions are missing:
- completed PORSCHE service booklet
- the last certificate of the anti-rust guarantee, which has been in existence since 1981(very important!!)
- the invoices of the last great maintenances
Would the Seller plz comment on nay corrosion? Thx
Bid in the amount of $9,110
@TheGerman I wish that I had that information . i did locate a few service receipts from the original selling dealer ( H untington Autohaus ) I will do my best to obtain any other documentation available and post it .
Please post the following documents:
- completed PORSCHE service booklet
- the last certificate of the anti-rust guarantee, which has been in existence since 1981
- the invoices of the last great maintenances
- the speed index and the date of manufacturing (DOT) of all tires
@GT3er YOUR ABSOLUTLY CORRECT . IT IS DEFINITELY THE WRONG DESCRIPTION. SORRY ABOUT THAT . FRONT AND REAR SPOILERS WERE A FACTORY OPTION ON THIS CAR .
I may be wrong, but I don't believe the rear spoiler is "turbo" style, as stated in the description. The one on this car is much better suited for this vehicle than the larger turbo spoiler.
@Farmhouse27 thanks so much.
@TyStav I have it in my showroom at the moment and there is no signs of any leaks . i have not had a compression test done but would be willing to do so . if i can have it done before the listing expires i will post it . Thanks for looking
Nice looking car. Any oil leaks? Have you had a compression or leak down test performed on the cylinders? I know it’s low mileage but never hurts to ask :). Thanks.
