The 560SL was the range-topping version of the R107 SL-Series, the third generation of Mercedes-Benz flagship grand tourer. Produced from 1971 to 1989, the R107 is the second-longest production run in Mercedes-Benz history behind the mighty G-Class. Bearing the top trim level available at the time, the 560SL is powered by a 5.5-liter V8. This 1986 example comes finished in Signal Red over Palomino leather upholstery. Garage-kept by the fourth and current owner of approximately six years, this example is now being offered for auction out of Connecticut.

 

This R107 is finished in Signal Red (568) with a black convertible soft top. Details include chrome trim, Additional features include North American-spec quad headlamps and front fog lights along with chrome-trimmed bumpers, window moldings, and mirror caps. It rides on polished 15” Gullideckel alloy wheels dressed in Summit Ultramax A/S tires mounted approximately 100 miles ago. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report noting a branded title along with minor damage in July 2018.

The cabin features Palomino leather (274) upholstery with matching carpets, a contrasting black dashboard, and burl wood trim. Accessories include automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, a center armrest, power windows, and a radio. Other amenities include sun visors with illuminated vanity mirrors, an automatic antenna, and an aftermarket Kenwood head unit. The seller notes the ABD light sensor needs replacing, the windshield washer fluid sensor needs replacing, and the odometer stopped working on June 12, 2024. 

Power comes from a 5.6L M117 V8 engine generating 227 HP and 279 lb.-ft of torque stock. The rear wheels are driven by way of a four-speed automatic transmission. The 560SL was equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes as standard.

This sale will include a branded title. The CARFAX report indicates the vehicle was reported stolen in February 2000.
