Once offered as the most high-powered SL-Class roadster in North America, this 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is equipped with a 5.6-liter V8 engine. It comes finished in Signal Red over a Palomino leather interior and is said to have undergone approximately $25k worth of service and refurbishment over the past year including a full repaint and a refreshed interior along with overhauls of the engine, fuel system, transmission, and brakes. This R107 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida while showing approximately 108k miles on the odometer.
This R107 is said to have been refinished in its original color of Signal Red (568) in 2022 and features chrome trim on the wheel arches, bumpers, mirrors, front grille, rocker panels, door edges, windscreen, and trunk lid. Other equipment includes a new tan convertible roof, rectangular front fog lights, an automatic antenna, power-adjustable mirrors, a front air dam, and factory 15” Gullideckel wheels dressed in new Kumho tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features Palomino leather upholstery with matching carpets, a contrasting black dashboard, and burl wood trim. Accessories include automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, a center armrest, power windows, and a radio. The seller notes the interior has been restored with new carpeting and seat covers. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.
A fuel-injected 5.6-liter V8 SOHC engine delivers up to 227 HP and 287 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 4-speed automatic transmission. Stopping power comes from power-assisted disc brakes at each corner. The suspension includes front and rear stabilizer bars, double wishbones in front, and a diagonal swing axle in the rear. Maintenance completed over the last year included a rebuilt fuel distributor and new fuel pumps along with service of the engine, transmission, and brake system. Corresponding invoices will accompany the sale.
This sale will include the original window sticker, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, sales literature, some service records, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “We spent 25,000 USD over the last 12 months to make this car perfect. New top, carpets, seat covers paint, tires, brakes, and a full service.”
