Representing the pinnacle of the R107 SL-series, the third-generation 560SL debuted as Mercedes-Benz's flagship grand tourer. Powered by a 5.6-liter V8 mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission, this 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SL comes finished in Light Ivory over a Palomino leather interior. It features a tan convertible soft top, 15” Gullideckel wheels, automatic climate control, a Becker Grand Prix stereo, and more. Garage-kept by its sole owner since new, this example is now being offered for auction by the selling dealer out of Michigan.
This example is finished in Light Ivory and accented with chrome trim on the bumpers, window moldings, and mirror caps. Notable features include a tan convertible top, rectangular front fog lights, a power antenna, power-adjustable mirrors, and a front air dam. It rides on 15” Gullideckel wheels wrapped in a new set of Bridgestone tires mounted in July 2024. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features Palomino leather upholstery with matching carpets, a contrasting black dashboard, and burl wood trim. Accessories include automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, a center armrest, power windows, and a radio. Other amenities include sun visors with illuminated vanity mirrors, an automatic antenna, and a radio. The seller notes the air conditioning system was recently recharged with the correct refrigerant. All gauges and accessories are reported to be in proper working order.
Power comes from a 5.6-liter V8 engine, which delivers a factory-rated 227 HP and 279 lb.-ft of torque to rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission. It is equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes as standard. The seller notes that the vehicle was recently serviced, including a fluid replacement.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This 1986 Mercedes 560SL is an all-original survivor, and the car is immaculate. You can tell It was well cared for its entire life. The paint presents itself great, and so does the interior. The top is immaculate shape as well. The car runs and drives great; it has brand-new tires, a new battery, and all-new fluids. The car will not disappoint!”
