Up for auction is this 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SL finished in Blue-Black Metallic over a Palomino leather interior. Sporting the top trim level available at the time, this R107 560SL features a 5.5L V8 along with automatic air conditioning, cruise control, and other driver amenities. It was acquired from its prior owner who purchased the car in 1994 and was recently serviced in preparation for its next caretaker. This classic 560SL is now being offered at no reserve by its seller out of North Carolina.
The exterior comes finished in Blue-Black Metallic (199O) with a matching removable hardtop and a black retractable cabriolet roof. Other features include North American-spec quad headlamps and front fog lights as well as chrome-trimmed bumpers, window moldings, and mirror caps. This SL retains factory 15” Gullideckel alloy wheels dressed in Bridgestone tires from 2018. The seller notes some areas of light paint fading throughout the exterior, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The interior is upholstered in Palomino leather (234) with matching door panels, carpeting, and decorative wood veneers. Equipment includes automatic air-conditioning, cruise control, a locking glove box, power windows, and an original Becker Grand Prix radio. The seller notes two small cracks in the dashboard and signs of wear on the leather seating surfaces and wood trim. The air conditioning system was recently converted to R134a and the driver’s seat power adjustment function was repaired. The power antenna does not fully extend and the vacuum lock on the driver's door does not operate but will open with the key inserted. The clock and odometer are inoperable and the vehicle's true mileage remains unknown.
The 560SL is powered by a 5.6L M117 V8 rated at 227 HP and 279 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a four-speed automatic transmission. Other equipment includes power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. Recent service is said to have included an oil change, replacement of the fuel accumulator, and new valve stem seals. An oil leak has been identified coming from the engine.
This sale will include a clean title.

Dear besi.
Thanks for your response.
Is it possible to have some pics from the rust topics underneath?
@benztown-car-lover Regarding rust, it’s clean with minimal rust underneath. Lifetime NC car.
Tire dates are 2018. Hankooks.
Dear Seller.
Do you have some underneath pics? These R107s can be rusty...?
What about rust all around? On rockers, under spare tire, jack holes, etc... Any indication about rust?
What is the production code (DOT) of the tyres?
Thanks in advance and best regards
benztown
Just to confirm: the AC has been converted to R134a and it blows cold.
(My previous comment included an “ice cold” emoji, but it came through as a question mark)
This SL is original and unmolested, runs well, and the AC blows cold ?
