The third generation of the Ford Mustang GT, the “Fox Body” featured a distinctive aerodynamic hatchback body style, a revised suspension, and a robust 5.0-liter HO (High Output) engine. This 1986 Mustang GT Convertible comes finished in Oxford White over a matching leather interior and offers an optional 4-speed automatic transmission. Benefitting from the replacement of the intake gaskets, muffler, brakes, and tires upon the seller’s acquisition in 2022, this example is now being offered for auction out of Ohio with approximately 30k miles on the odometer.

The ”Fox Body” Mustang presents an aggressive and sporty appearance made up of a pronounced wedge-shaped hatchback body style, vented hood, quad headlights, and flared wheel arches. This example comes finished in Oxford White with grey accents and a white convertible soft top. It rides on machine-finished 15” 10-slot wheels dressed in new BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The seller adds that a full paint correction and Ceramic X Diamond protection coating have been applied and the exterior trim pieces have been reconditioned. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with white leather contrasted by a red dashboard, center console, carpets, and seatbelts. Equipment includes a multifunction steering wheel, a cassette stereo, a premium sound system, cruise control, air conditioning, and power windows & door locks. The seller adds that the seats have been reconditioned and treated. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.

This Mustang GT is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 featuring sequential electronic fuel injection. As much as 200 HP and 285 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through an optional 4-speed automatic transmission and a standard 3.27 Traction-Lok rear axle. The seller adds that service items carried out under the previous owner included the replacement of the brake master cylinder & battery along with a brake fluid & oil/filter change. Maintenance completed in March 2022 by an authorized Ford dealer included the replacement of the intake gaskets, muffler, and brakes. A Deluxe Marti Report is said to accompany the sale.

This sale will include a clean title.

i just noticed this is an automatic which i wasnt aware of it's existence......mine was a 5 speed. Maybe the automatic had less power. Not sure.

  • Rod27 (registered bidder) 1 year, 3 monthsago

i had one of these in college. Power was 225hp. 1986 was also the first year of fuel injection. The 85 looked the same until you opened the hood.
