BMW’s original 6-Series (E24) was designed by Paul Bracq in 1976 and received a facelift in mid-1982 which included freshened styling and trim as well as an improved suspension, ABS, and steering system. This 1986 BMW E24 635CSi comes finished in Bronzit Beige Metallic over a brown leather interior and features a 5-speed manual transmission paired with its fuel-injected M30B34 inline-6 engine. The car benefits from a notable service history and comes equipped with factory sports seats, upgraded Bilstein shocks, lowering springs, a Racing Dynamics strut tower brace, an M Sport steering wheel, and a new rear exhaust section. This E24 is said to have been under the previous long-term ownership of a Roundel Magazine editor in Pennsylvania and later spent about 10 years in the Hamptons where it was acquired by the seller 4 years ago. This 635CSi is now being offered for auction by its third owner out of New York while showing approximately 83k miles on the odometer.
This post-facelift E24 comes finished in Bronzit Beige Metallic with a brown pinstripe and features polished mirror caps, window trim, and grille accents as well as a body-colored front air dam with integrated fog lights. Other details include black rubber bumpers and body moldings, a trunk lid spoiler, and dual center-mounted tailpipes with polished Silverline exhaust tips. The car rides on 15” BMW Style 5 basketweave wheels dressed in Michelin Defender tires (2816). The seller notes minimal paint imperfections including a blemish by the passenger door handle and near the sunroof. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is lined with tan carpeting and features brown leather on the seats, door panels, center console, and lower dashboard. Equipment includes power-adjustable sports seats with driver position memory, a wooden gear knob, a three-spoke M Sport steering wheel, power windows and mirrors, air conditioning, a heated rear window, an onboard computer, and a BMW sound system with an AM/FM cassette stereo. The seller notes some wear is present on the driver’s seat bolster and the instrument cluster was recently refurbished. An aftermarket antenna has been installed and the original Hirschman antenna is said to be included.
This 635CSi is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter M30B34 inline 6-cylinder SOHC engine rated at 182 HP and 214 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a Getrag 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller reports the car has been serviced with a valve adjustment, new valve covers, spark plugs, a differential reseal, a new front A/C condenser, fluid flushes, and a new OEM rear exhaust section. Modifications include Bilstein sport shocks, lowering springs, and a Racing Dynamics front strut tower brace.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, some service records, and a clean title.

@sikedsyko I will even make sure that AC is ice cold for you drive
@sikedsyko Car is ready for long or short drive
Any reasons you would hesitate to drive this car 1500 miles cross country?
This sure looks like a much loved example that someone could really enjoy piling on more miles. The front spoiler has been repaired, probably a few times as I don't remember any of these that I used to take care of that didn't end up with a bashed up lower valance. It's just vulnerable out there with the approach angle before the days of front end lift setups. So many of these cars just look really tired. This one's got some patina, but still just gorgeous. Love the interior color too! GLWA!
