Porsche introduced the 944 for the 1982 model year with updated equipment and increased refinement compared to its predecessor, allowing for improved handling, stopping power, and comfortability. Showing just under 41k miles on the odometer, this 1985 example comes finished in Guards Red over a Grey Beige interior and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Kentucky.
This 944 comes refinished in Guards Red and features distinctive pop-up headlights, integrated front fog lights, and a black polyurethane spoiler surrounding the glass rear hatch. The finish is described to be very well presented with only a few small imperfections as depicted in the photo gallery. The seller adds that the rear glass has been repaired after signs of delamination.
The interior has been upholstered in Grey Beige partial leather with suede seat inserts, matching carpets, and a contrasting brown leatherette applied to the dashboard, upper door panels, and center console. Factory equipment includes a removable sunroof panel with an electric tilt feature, power windows, and air conditioning. The seller reports all gauges and accessories to be working apart from the oil pressure gauges showing maximum pressure and the brake-pad wear indicator falsely illuminated.
Representing the final iteration of the 944 Series 1, this Coupe is equipped with a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine which sends 150 HP to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transmission. The seller adds that the rear axles seem to have been replaced under previous ownership.
This sale will include a clean title.
