This 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa is finished in white with blue accents and underwent a complete engine and transmission rebuild in 2021. A subsequent 12-month restoration included a full interior refurbishment featuring blue leather upholstery with white contrast stitching, houndstooth seat centers and door accents, RS-style door pulls, new carpeting, an air conditioning system refresh, a heater system restoration, LED interior lighting, paint correction, ceramic coating, and more. Additional upgrades include a ducktail rear spoiler, BBS wheels, and other enhancements. This meticulously restored Targa is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas.
The exterior is said to have been refinished in white in 2021 and has since undergone a comprehensive paint correction and ceramic coating. Modifications include blue racing stripes, gold accents, a new front window, a rear ducktail spoiler, and 17” BBS wheels wrapped in Hankook Ventus V12 evo tires mounted approximately 5k miles ago. Other details include black headlamp rings, body-color side mirrors, a silver Targa bar, and a black removable top. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report noting moderate damage in July 2012.
The cabin has been completely restored with blue leather upholstery, white contrast stitching, and orange and black houndstooth seat centers and door accents. White RS-style door pulls, new carpeting with soundproofing, and all-new seals were also installed. The steering wheel features “PORSCHE” lettering crafted from pure silver. Additionally, the air conditioning system was upgraded with a new compressor, lines, and fan, while the heater system was restored. LED lighting has been added to the gauge cluster and dashboard. The gauges and electronics were professionally serviced at Porsche Dallas, and the RPM gauge has been upgraded with a gold background, complemented by silver gauge trim.
An air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine produces up to 207 HP and 192 lb.-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a 5-speed 915 manual transaxle. The engine and transmission were reportedly rebuilt in 2021 under prior ownership, with a compression test showing consistent results of 162-165 psi across all cylinders.
This sale will include a clean title. The CARFAX report notes a potential odometer rollback in September 2023.
