Debuted in 1984, the 911 Carrera shared many of its visual cues with its immediate predecessor, the 911SC, but received powerful upgrades beneath the shell including a larger 3.2-liter flat-six engine. Built with equipment for the German market, this imported 1985 example offers increased engine output when compared to the US market version, and showcases European side marker lights and bumperettes. It comes finished in Meteor Metallic over a black leather interior with optional Sport Seats. Owned by one family prior to the seller's acquisition, this meticulously maintained Carrera is now being offered for auction out of Tennessee while showing approximately 9k miles on the odometer.
This Carrera comes finished in Meteor Metallic. Equipment includes a front valance with integrated fog lights, a front chin spoiler, chrome headlight bezels, European side marker lenses & bumperettes, a whale tail rear spoiler, and 16” Fuchs wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires from 2018. Minor signs of road wear are noted, and additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with black leather and features desirable Sport Seats along with a sunroof. Equipment includes a 4-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, Blaupunkt cassette player, and climate control. The seller notes slight warping of the dashboard and adds that all gauges, electronics, and accessories are working properly.
Power comes from an air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine rated at 231 HP (an increase of 24 HP compared to the US version) with a higher European-spec 10.3:1 compression ratio. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed 915 manual gearbox. The seller reports service items throughout 2018 and 2019 included draining the fuel system, replacing the fuel tank, fuel pumps, injectors, spark plugs, and belts. In January 2019, an engine-out service was performed including reconditioning of the clutch and flywheel components. The seller adds that the engine's original cosmoline is present. Additionally, the hood & engine lid struts were replaced, and the air conditioner was converted to an R134 system. A host of documentation is said to accompany the sale.
This sale will include a clean title, service documentation, a toolkit, an air pump, and sales literature.
The seller would like you to know: “I was in my office and received a call from the original owner's Grandson (36 years old) to inform me he had his grandfather's original 9452-mile 1985 Carrera Coupe. It sounded too good so I interviewed him and took a chance, bought an airplane ticket. My thoughts were that this car either reflects that of a 9500-mile car or would not! Upon arriving the review was no longer than 30 minutes with an awareness from walking up to the car that it was an honest, original car, EVERYTHING reflected that of a garaged kept car with actual miles. BTW, I have traded well over a couple of thousand air-cooled Porsche cars in 48 years of a purveyor of this excellent marque. I had a few to compare this one to. Start-up and a quick ten-mile drive confirmed this was the real deal. Truly an exciting find!”

One can replace the dash top with another leather or purchase a vinyl that stays straight but eventually cracks(chances are slim that the vinyl will crack if the car is garaged kept.
Historically I would not even give thought to replacing one as clean as this one, however, this car is so close to perfection that a new, straight dsah would really be a nice touch.
@Jpfrazier4211 Thanks
Yes, I do see the dash looks slightly wavy. Is it noticeable sitting in the car?
Would it be something the new owner could have professionally fixed or better left alone?
Ron993G50
I can do that but one can clearly see it in the pictures posted,#92,#93,#97,#67,#68.
For those that are newcomers to the Porsche world, these leather dash covers from Porsche would warp at times within months of delivery.I recall purchasing them when they would be under a year from new and the dash may be warped.I am certain there are many that have not but we always accepted the warping more in the nature of "not is it warped but how much".
Hope that helps.
Can you post a close up photo of the leather dash that was stated, slightly warped.
Thanks

Damaho912-LOL,the same narrative came to my mind
“Unforeseen circumstance has come up.” Translation, wife beat the s$&t out of me.
FYI-I have lifted the reserve.I have seen 911 cars with this mileage go for substantially more. The guys that have come to the store and reviewed the car during this auction have all agreed with my assessment that the car is the "REAL" deal.
I want to see the car go to a good steward that will maintain this gem at its current level of integrity.
Wednesday is our last day, good luck to all the bidders, bid with confidence, someone is going home with a SUPERSTAR!
@Johnd123 Your $86,000 bid has been retracted.
I unfortunately have to pull back my bid. unforeseen circumstance has come up. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this might caused the seller.
jkw01-date code 5018 ,
Can you share the date code on the tires?
mr.rpm-that is correct.Everything fits perfect and looks as if factory except control knobs are a bit different and compressor looks new.The A/C is cool.
Nice car. This AC was added after the car left the factory, correct?
JCP964- I would imagine all those Euro Speedo ended up in a trash bin or on a bookshelf of a young enthusiastic Lot Tech.
Service tickets have been uploaded. Thank you!
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
was the EURO Speedometer saved?
@dday930-$84500
@dday930 What did you sell your Cab for?
My apologies for not scanning and posting records. We will scan on Monday when back at office.
JCP964-correct,the MPH speedometers were installed stateside to conform to US EPA and DOT
The car was originally delivered in Germany? It has a MPH Speedometer, not Kilometers?

We are going to "Pump...you up" never attempt to explain anything to the clerks at the DMV - have your payment device at the ready and simply ask how much do I owe? Never ask them to think on their own...
mpgando-this is important for all to know. When the Patriarch passed and daughter went in to get an updated title in her name,DMV asked mileage and she just casually threw out 15,000 miles and there it is.To avoid any future "incorrect miles" on any Carfax reporting the car will be sold with the Federally mandated "exempt".For those that do not know Federal reporting is "exempt" on any cars older than 10 years old.As Hans and Franz on Saturday Night Live used to state-"Hear me now, believe me later"
Super low mileage unadulterated G-body. Oh boy, this will be fun to watch! Great looking car…GLWA!
Bid in the amount of $10,000
Beautiful car! Why does car fax show 15,000 miles in 2005?
Thanks
@seller. You remove that yellow sticker, and I’m coming after you. Lol
I think ANY original sticker on ANY nice original car is cool. Many differ ,anything that reflects a non altered Factory original cool to me
I’m sorry, but nostalgia and authenticity aside, that ugly yellow sticker really takes away from the classic lines and looks of the dashboard. It’s the first thing you notice.
I recently sold an '86 cab with 9k miles in Meteor Metallic- Just like this one, it showed every aspect of being original off the assembly line. This is an excellent example for a preservationist, with all the factory decals and markings too. Great car. I love how the color changes in certain light from gray to purple. GLWTA!!
