Among the most highly sought-after Mercedes-Benz sedans of all time, the W123 series was produced from 1976-1986 and has earned recognition for its robust design and exceptional build quality. Among the very last of the diesel-powered W123s offered for the U.S. market, this 1985 300D comes finished in Diamond Blue Metallic over Blue MB-Tex upholstery. This two-owner, garage-kept example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York with approximately 126k miles on the odometer.
This W123 comes finished in Diamond Blue Metallic (355U) complemented by black body side moldings, matching bumpers, and chrome brightwork along the front grille, mirror caps, and window surrounds. It rides on factory 14” forged alloy Bundt wheels dressed in Zeta Verdant tires. Some minor signs of road wear are noted, and detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features Blue (152) MB-Tex leatherette upholstery with matching carpets and contrasting Zebrano wood trim. Amenities include power windows, air conditioning, a locking glovebox, cruise control, and an electric sunroof. Two minor dashboard cracks are noted, and the climate control buttons are sometimes finicky. Additionally, the automatic antenna has been glued down, the driver’s side window motor/actuator requires replacement, and the radio has been removed although it will be included in the sale separately. All other gauges, electronics, and accessories are said to be working properly.
The late-model 300D equips a venerable OM 617 inline-five turbodiesel engine, sending as much as 123 HP and 184 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission. The seller states the air conditioning system has been recharged, a full service was carried out in 2022, and the driver’s side window motor/actuator may need to be replaced in the future. No other outstanding maintenance items have been reported, and some service records are said to accompany the sale.
This sale will include a clean title.

@Peabo the rear drivers side window goes up & down however recently started to do so intermittently. The technician said it will most likely need to be fixed. I have not lowered it again more than a time or two since discovering this.
Please exlpain why the motor actuator might need replacement. Is it currently failing? Thank you
