Representing the high-performance variant of BMW’s E24 grand touring coupe, this 1985 BMW 635CSi is powered by a 3.4-liter M30 inline-six paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Finished in Burgundy Red Metallic over a Pearl Beige leather interior, it comes equipped with a limited-slip differential, a power-operated sunroof, 16” Style 32 wheels, power-adjustable front seats, air conditioning, a Blaupunkt Bremen digital media receiver, and more. The car benefits from a stainless steel Supersprint exhaust system upgrade along with recent servicing. Showing approximately 53k miles on the odometer, this well-maintained 635CSi is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Virginia.
The E24 generation earned its “shark nose” moniker for its distinctive and aggressive front-end styling. This example is finished in Burgundy Red Metallic and features polished bumper trim, quad headlights, integrated fog lamps, bright window surrounds, mirror caps, door handles, and a chrome-surround kidney grille. Additional exterior details include a power-operated sunroof and dual exhaust outlets. It rides on 16” Style 32 alloy wheels mounted with Falken Ziex tires. The seller notes a chip in the windshield. Detailed images, including paint meter readings, are provided in the gallery, along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is trimmed in Pearl Beige leather with matching door panels and carpeting, and includes power-adjustable front seats, rear bucket seats, and polished door sill guards. A three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a full set of analog gauges, while amenities include power windows, cruise control, climate control, an onboard computer, and a Blaupunkt Bremen digital media receiver with Bluetooth compatibility. The seller highlights that the dashboard is free of cracks and the leather upholstery is in excellent condition for its age.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter SOHC M30B34 inline-six engine, generating a factory-rated 182 HP and 214 lb-ft of torque. A full stainless steel Supersprint exhaust system paired with a ceramic-coated exhaust manifold has been installed. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The suspension setup includes MacPherson front struts and rear semi-trailing arms, complemented by power-assisted steering and four-wheel disc brakes. Recent service is said to include a new BMW air conditioning compressor and dryer, new hoses and belts, new brake rotors and pads, and upgraded suspension components.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, a sales brochure, a period-correct BMW-branded radar detector, a factory stereo, exhaust system, spare parts, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This car could be the cleanest and the most good-looking E24 around. All original body panels & paint, no rust or body work. The interior is very pretty & elegant, with all original leather seats in excellent condition. All rubber seals are in nice, like-new condition & soft. No cost spared mechanical service & upgrade. Looks, smells, drives & feels like a new car. Over $55,000 invested (excluding the owner's labor) to maintain as a reliable & safe personal vehicle. However, due to health issues & having too many cars, I decided to let go of this elegant shark. This is a garage queen that can be driven anywhere and to car shows. It always attracts a lot of attention, especially with the beautiful shiny Burgundy exterior & beautiful pearl leather interior. 53,365 original miles."

thank you
What condition is the dash? any cracks?
@pcarenthuz all body panels are completely rust free
Jahan, Are there any signs of rust or corrosion? Is the heated door lock to prevent it from freezing? That is quite cool!
also it has heated driver door lock and two separate reservoirs one for water and one for soap for the windshield washer!
another very cool thing about the previous owner showing how much he. cared about this car is the a picture from the owners manual in the gallery . He was an old mechanical engineer , He calculated the gear ratios to the 3rd digit and noted it on the owners manual and a few places he even calculated some specs and corrected the manual !
@Jahan, thank you. I missed those. Looking well sorted. I don't think I have ever seen a BMW logo'd radar detector. That's quite cool.
Thanks for your question and comment
