Produced from 1985 to 1989, the BMW 635CSi was offered as a high-performance version of the E24 model. Powered by an M30 inline-six engine and 4-speed automatic transmission, this inaugural-year example is finished in Blac over a matching interior. This meticulously maintained 635CSi is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas showing just over 118k miles on the odometer.
The E24 generation has earned its ‘shark nose’ nickname from its aggressive front styling cues. Finished in Black, this example rides on 16” aftermarket five-spoke wheels wrapped in Continental ContiPremiumContact 2 tires from 2018. Other equipment includes chrome accents, quad headlights, fog lights, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes minor spots of rust and small areas of previous touch-up paint. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is upholstered in black leather and features power-adjustable front seats, rear bucket seats, polished door sill guards, and a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel. Amenities include an onboard computer, power windows, climate control, and cruise control. The seller notes a cracked dashboard along with faded decals on various interior switches, and an aftermarket Sony head unit has been installed with Bluetooth compatibility. The fuel gauge is reported to work intermittently, along with the air conditioning blower only functioning on high settings.
Powered by a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter SOHC M30B34 inline-six engine, the 635CSi sends up to 182 HP and 214 lb.-ft. of torque to its rear wheels by way of a 4-speed ZF 4HP22 automatic transmission. Recent maintenance is said to include the replacement of the axle shaft assemblies, the fuel pump, spark plugs, tie rods, control & support arms, and tires. The seller also reports to have performed regular oil changes and full services as necessary.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, some documentation, the original stereo, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is a highly original and meticulously maintained vehicle, coming from a larger collection of well-cared-for German collectibles. No expenses have been spared in its upkeep. The car features its original paint and interior, and it is mechanically very sound. With original mileage and a low number of total owners, this 1985 635CSi is perfect for someone seeking a well-preserved classic. It has new tires and has always been stored indoors and covered. It is ready for the next owner to continue maintaining and enjoying.”
