Up for auction is this fully restored and highly-equipped 1984 911 street legal outlaw that is ready for the track . Starting life out as a standard Carrera 3.2, this 911 has been completely gone through and rebuilt by a reputable Porsche restoration expert and now stands as a one-of-a kind high-performance outlaw. Bearing less than 5k miles on its professionally rebuilt engine and transmission, this top-quality outlaw is now being offered for auction in excellent driving condition by a seller in Nashville, TN.
Sporting a custom racing livery, this 911 is said to have undergone full paint correction with resprays done on the bumpers, hood, roof, cowl and mirrors. The exterior shows to be in great shape with minimal flaws as indicated by the seller. Restoration work included the replacement of all rubber gaskets and body seals as well as the reconditioning and replacement of exterior lighting. Exterior modifications include: GT Racing lightweight front and rear bumpers, a GT Racing rear deck lid, Bosch H4 headlight conversion and custom ’74 IROC graphics. This 911 rides on 7- & 9-inch Fuchs wheels which come wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza S-02 N-Spec tires. A truly well-executed build, this outlaw looks ready-to-race.
The black leatherette interior has been fully restored and is said to remain in great shape. A new leather headliner has been installed along with new lightweight carpeting, restored gauges and a re-covered dashboard. Interior upgrades include Recaro Pole Position seats, RS door panels a WEVO shifter and removable race-style steering wheel. As a performance-oriented build, this 911 features an A/C system delete as well as a full welded roll-cage and Schroth 6-point harness. All gauges, electrical components and accessories are reported to be fully functional and there are no issues that need to be addressed. Once sat behind the wheel, it quickly becomes clear that this outlaw means business.
This 911 carries a 228hp 3.2l flat-six engine that has been fully rebuilt down to the crank bearings by Don Ramsay at Air Cooled Classics in Knoxville, TN. The heads have been machined, the fuel lines have been replaced and all internals have been upgraded or refreshed. GT racing headers and a muffled exhaust make for a lovely sound out of the tailpipes while a Bosch Motronic ECU manages everything under the bonnet. Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of a fully rebuilt transmission with a Timmins aluminum clutch kit and solid mounts. This 911’s power is curbed by Wilwood front 4-piston race calipers paired with vented, cryo-treated rotors. Bilstein Sport struts coupled with a fully re-worked suspension set up provides for a tight, responsive ride. With less than 5k miles added since the engine and transmission rebuild, this outlaw is stated to run and drive beautifully with no complications. If you have been searching for an air-cooled 911 that offers a visceral racecar-like experience, look no further.
The seller has provided the following comprehensive list of performance parts and upgrades equipped on this build.

The sale of this high-performance outlaw will include extensive service records, two sets of keys and original owner’s books. Owned, built and maintained by a reputable Porsche expert, this outlaw comes with a clean bill of health and a clear title in the seller’s name.

@MattShaw please note the dry weight is 2595. 2750 is loaded with driver ,gear and fuel.
I have asked PCARMARKET to post picture corner weights which are near perfect for light weight Carrera. Dry weight is 2595.
@pratt_singer CarFax has a history. PCARMARKET is posting. Structural integrity is stronger than factory with the cage. All panels are straight. Alignment ranges are good. Corner balance is near perfection. Honestly not sure the history before 2006. It’s strong, straight and solid as a rock!
@pratt_singer Graphics are vinyl. Bumpers are painted. Hood is vinyl. Paint under the graphics is good and matching.

do you have the car fax report?

Are graphics vinyl? Thanks.
@CurtGT3RS Thanks for your question. The car has logged 6 local weekends as an HPDE car since 2006. It has not been used in racing since the rebuild. As with any early car (non-OBD) the over-revs are a concern. Obviously, oil condition, leak condition and performance are the best forms of inspection but even then there still may be questions. I can tell you this car is meticulously maintained. It is dry as a bone and fires on the first spark with no smoke and amazing confidence. Hope that helps. It is ready for PPI for any bids at or above reserve.
Nice car! How much time has the car spent on the track since the rebuild?
@Slim_Chance Thank you for your vote of confidence. You are correct this is not Frankenstein! Its a very well built 3.2 with proven suspension upgrades and diet treatment. It is fast, super fun, eye catching, vestibular and importantly, very reliable. Give it ignition and go. That’s it! Thank you for watching the auction.
Slick idea using a 7:31 R&P. Good luck. Much better value than the Frankenstein back date on BAT.

Thanks for the interest in the Outlaw. It has great DNA. It has been detuned as a full-blown race car with cage, fuel cell and comfort deletes. It is fun, easy, somewhat obnoxious car yo drive. Its like the loudest Hells Angel on 4 wheels. Magnus would love it. The Marlboro Man would love it. I’ll get PCARMARKET to post some videos. Hugely entertaining. Enjoy the auction.
The motor was initially built by Don Ramsey in 2006. The car went into storage for several years. It was then purchased and tracked as an HPDE car for a few events in 2012. It went through the Outlaw conversion in 2017. Leak-down at that time was within 6% on all cylinders. That’s when it got new plugs. Has amazing start-up! Hits on first ignition and never smokes. Not even a puff. Its is a great build! Any leak-down should be done by a knowledgeable air-cooled engine builder. Parameters and results can be subject to the sale.
titangolf thank you for the vote of confidence. This car is strong and tight. Very drivable on street or track.
How many hours on the motor/trans since last rebuild and can you provide current leakdown #s? Thanks
I have seen and heard this car. It is an extremely nice build! The owner is very knowledgeable and meticulous and does everything 110%. Buy with confidence!
