This 1984 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser was subject to a no-expense spared frame-off restoration by House of Cruisers. It was said to be imported from Venezuela, and retains its original numbers-matching 2F inline-six paired to the original 4-speed transmission, and was factory optioned with OEM power steering. Additions during the restoration include a full Old Man Emu suspension, a Warn 8274 winch, a custom front bumper with a Hawse fairlead and Factor 55 Flat Link, new BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, rebuilt 4-wheel disc brakes, a Vetusil aluminum exhaust system, refreshed axles and differentials, a reupholstered interior, Nostalgic AC air conditioning and heating, and an upgraded Sony stereo. Having traveled just 270 km (167 miles) since the restoration, this 1984 FJ40 is now being offered at auction by the seller located in Florida.
The exterior was stripped down and repainted in the factory color of Beige (464) with a white top. Equipment includes a front steel bumper with a Warn 8274 winch with black synthetic rope, a Hawse fairlead, and a Factor 55 Flat Link shackle mount, origianl steel rear bumperettes with a step, a swing-out rear tire carrier, and Toyota Land Cruiser fender badges. The 15” steel wheels are dressed with OEM Toyota polished hubcaps and BFGoodrich K02 all-terrain tires.
The interior has been reupholstered in gray with two front bucket seats and two rear inward-facing jump seats. The restoration included the installation of a new OEM instrument cluster, custom floor carpeting, a roll bar, a new OEM glove box auxiliary lamp, air conditioning and heat by Nostalgic AC, and a Sony head unit with two custom installed speakers.
The FJ40 Land Cruiser is powered by a carbureted 4.2-liter 2F inline-six, which was factory rated at 135 HP and 200 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven by a 4-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case. Modifications include a full Old Man Emu suspension kit and a Vetusil aluminum exhaust system. The seller reports that the original engine and transmission were rebuilt during the restoration, the axles and differentials were serviced, the 4-wheel disc brakes were refreshed, and only OEM Toyota parts were used in the process.
This sale will include 2 keys, owner’s manuals, a full-sized spare, an OEM auxiliary glove box lamp, and the winch controller.

@Larryking Good morning. That's correct. Front door rubber seals were replaced. About rear windows, some of them needed to be replaced as well. They are perfect.
And yes: Engine fully rebuilt, new water pump, rebuilt OEM power steering, new brakes, new everything... Every part in this Land Cruiser has been replaced (new) or rebuilt (mostly replaced with OEM parts). Thanks for your questions
@houseofcruisers - hi very nice example of fj40
Could u please give more info on the weather seal for doors and window. We’re they replaced during the rebuild.
Also can we assume that the engine rebuild include a rebuild of carburetor power steering, alternator, water bump etc
Thanx
