This 1984 Porsche 944 comes finished in Black over a matching partial leather interior with desirable Porsche script seat inserts. This example is said to have been cared for by its previous owner, a PCA member, for about 20 years before it was acquired by the seller in January 2022. It is said to have recently undergone notable maintenance items including replacements to the timing belt, balance shaft belt, water pump, spark plugs, brake lines, power steering hose, and more. This 944 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Virginia.
This 944 comes finished in nonmetallic Black and features distinctive pop-up headlights, integrated front fog lights, and a black polyurethane spoiler surrounding the glass rear hatch. It rides on 993 Turbo-style wheels and Kumho tires that were mounted approximately 7 years ago. The seller notes some paint fading on the hood, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a full CARFAX report.
Inside, the driver is situated within a black partial leather interior with classic Porsche script inserts. Equipment includes a removable sunroof panel with an electric tilt feature, power windows, air conditioning, and an upgraded Pioneer radio. The seller notes some wear on the steering wheel and driver’s seat, and the clock is currently inoperable. The 5-digit odometer currently reads approximately 29k miles, although the CARFAX report shows a mileage inconsistency (TMU).
A naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter inline-four engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle that delivers up to 150 HP and 142 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Standard features include four-wheel independent suspension, power-assisted rack & pinion steering, and power-assisted ventilated disc brakes. The seller adds that the timing belt, balance shaft belt, and water pump were replaced approximately 6k miles ago. Additionally, service carried out within the last 5k miles included the timing belt re-tensioned along with replacing the spark plugs, wires, O2 sensors, ignition switch, auxiliary belts, steel brake lines, oil pan gasket, oil cooler seals, power steering hose, speed & reference sensors, and battery.
This sale will include a branded title and owner’s manuals.
The seller would like you to know: “This is a good example of an early 944. It has been my daily driver since I’ve owned it and it has been a joy to drive. The previous owners and I have kept extensive records of the vehicle. Hoping to pass it along to another Porsche enthusiast.”

@gethelp1984 correct, it is TMU, not salvaged.
@Klotf So it's a clear title just TMU? My state will allow TMU but not salvage.
@gethelp1984 just to clarify, the title is branded because the odometer was broken for a short period of time. It was repaired shortly after and I have the records to substantiate that. I was able to title it as if it was a clean title.
I will check with my DMV regarding registering a branded title vehicle in my state.
@gethelp1984 the AC and heat do work, AC has been converted. And yes, the rear logo does light up.
Also-- Does the upgraded Porsche rear logo light up? Thanks
AC and heat work? Thanks
