Available for auction at no reserve is this 1984 Porsche 944 finished in Black over a brown and tan partial leather interior. This 944 was sold new from HJ Pfaff Motors of Ontario where the car was maintained and well documented by its original owner from 1984 to 2016. The car has remained virtually undriven since then as part of a large private collection, while also receiving a major service and timing belt replacement. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Canada showing just over 100k kilometers (62k miles) on the odometer.
This 944 comes finished in nonmetallic Black and features distinctive pop-up headlights, integrated front fog lights, and a black polyurethane spoiler surrounding the glass rear hatch. Some minor imperfections and signs of road-going wear are noted, and the seller reports the front bumper and lower valence have been previously refinished. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This 944 rides on factory 15” ATS Cookie Cutter wheels dressed in older Yokohama tires.
Inside, you will find a brown and tan partial leather interior with desirable Porsche script inlays on the seat centers. Factory equipment includes a removable sunroof panel with an electric tilt feature, power windows, air conditioning, and a Blaupunkt radio. The seller notes all gauges and accessories remain fully functional while the cabin presents very well showing minimal signs of wear.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 2.5L inline-four engine paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle, delivering up to 150 HP and 142 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Standard features include four-wheel independent suspension, power-assisted rack and pinion steering, and power-assisted ventilated disc brakes. The CARFAX report includes four service records dating as far back as 2004, and the seller notes a major service was carried out in 2016 including the replacement of the timing belt. An oil and filter change was carried out more recently in 2021. Images of the undercarriage can be found in the gallery.
This sale will include a toolkit, spare tire, and a clean title. A well-preserved early 944, this 1984 example makes an excellent choice for any enthusiast in search of a vintage transaxle Porsche.

Apologies sir, I had not seen these earlier and did not scroll down far enough. Still the paint surface appearance
is puzzling.

@trainwreck yes, paint meter readings are in the photo gallery. The car is consistently between 5 and 7 mils. For anyone to say it’s original paint without question is the wrong thing to do. That said the numbers show there is no deep paint or filler that would indicate an incident.
I will say that where we shot the car was maybe not the most becoming.
If that is the original factory paint, it must have been a bad day at Neckarsulm. Photos 30 and 31 show it best, but there is much evidence of unPorsche like orange peel. If paint meter readings were taken, they probably should have been documented here.

@reserve416 Thanks, any records of antifreeze replacement? Also, I see older Yokahamas listed, what is the date stamp on the tires?
@Goodwood in 2016 it was the cam belt, front crank seal that was replaced and an oil change. that was in 2016 and most recent it had an oil an filter service performed in mid 2021.
As part of the major service, was radiator coolant replacement done and all drivetrain fluids such as transmission and rear differential fluids replaced?
@outbid6 morning and morning too all.

Hello all and welcome to our first Auction with Pcar. We’re really pleased to offer this beautifully kept and completely original 944.
Traded into our store from one of our biggest customers on believe it or not a McLaren P1.
The car was bought from our original parent store HJ Pfaff Motors. It was owned by the original owner until 2016 when our client purchased it from him and spend a good chunk of money to bring her to the level you see today. It really wasn’t much as the car was very well looked after already.
Additional photos of the books, original bill of sale and paint readings will be uploaded today.
Thanks and enjoy the auction.
