Founded by brothers Erwin and Manfred Kremer in Cologne, Germany, Kremer Racing is among the world's preeminent Porsche tuners, renowned for their highly successful modified Porsche 935 Group 5 race cars. Following a 935 Kremer Type 3’s (K3) victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979, the company offered a road-legal K3 “Street” conversion based on the 930 Turbo for the most discerning driving enthusiasts. This 1984 Porsche 930 Turbo Group 5 Street 2 conversion was custom ordered by Dr. Frank Paletta in 1983 as a collaboration between DP Motorsports and Kremer Racing, and is documented as the first of its series to have been constructed. It features 935-style fiberglass and Kevlar composite bodywork, a revised 4-speed manual transaxle, and a reworked 3.3-liter flat-six engine with an upgraded turbocharger, camshafts, and an enlarged intercooler. The car has also been modified with 917-sourced brakes, an adjustable coilover suspension, a Fabspeed 930 performance package, an upgraded sound system, Recaro seats, a leather-wrapped roll bar, an LED boost gauge, and custom BBS wheels. The car was sold to its second owner in 2007 and remained under their care until the seller’s acquisition in 2023. It has since undergone a major service, including new valve covers, ignition components, fuel pumps, wheel bearings, and suspension. Suggested by some sources to be one of fewer than 10 Kremer Group 5 Street 2 conversions produced in total, this incredibly rare and highly collectible 911 Turbo is now being offered for auction out of Florida.

Based on a European-market Porsche 930 Turbo Coupe, the car was modified by Kremer with fiberglass and Kevlar composite bodywork inspired by the 935 K3 racecar. It features a 935-style slant nose front end with louvered fenders, a revised front valence with covered headlamps, flared fenders, extended rocker panels, straked side air intakes, an enlarged “Tea Tray” spoiler, and a flush-mounted rear valence with dual exhaust outlets. The exterior is finished in red with green and yellow DP racing stripes and “Kremer Street 2: side lettering. Equipment includes 935-style mirrors, a fender-mounted antenna, an electric sunroof, a rear window wiper, chrome oval Fabspeed exhaust tips, and custom 15” BBS wheels with gold-finished centers and polished outer barrels. The car rides on Pirelli P Zero Asimmetrico tires from 2023. The seller states the paintwork is original from the Kremer conversion, and the exterior is in very good overall condition, apart from an abrasion on the front lip spoiler and some paint chips behind the front wheels.

The black interior has been modified with power-adjustable leather Recaro bucket seats, a black leather-wrapped roll bar, DP 935-branded door sills, an HK LED boost gauge, an engraved “935 K3 Street Turbo” commission plaque on the passenger door, and a serialized plaque on the glovebox confirming that this unit is the first ever of the G5 Street 2 series to have been built. Other accessories include a three-spoke leather steering wheel, power windows, a heater, Infinity door speakers, and a Sony stereo. The rear seats and air conditioning compressor have been removed.

The car’s 3.3-liter flat-six engine was modified by Kremer Racing with “Group B” camshafts, ported and polished heads, an enlarged intercooler, and a revised K27 turbocharger with 16psi of boost pressure. A Fabspeed 930 performance package has also been installed, adding sport headers, a dual-outlet muffler, a turbocharger air intake kit, and extended Slant Nose oil cooler lines. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Kremer-modified 4-speed manual transaxle. The car’s suspension has been converted to coilovers with Bilstein dampers and custom springs. It also features an adjustable front sway bar kit, reinforced rear sway bar mounts, adjustable rear spring plates, monoball rear trailing arm bushings, de-cambered front ball joints, adjustable upper front strut mounts, 917-sourced brakes, and Pagid brake pads. Service in 2024 included an oil change, new valve covers, suspension components, wheel bearings, fuel pumps, ignition wires, a distributor cap and rotor, a fuel filter, a fuel accumulator, and a compression test.

This sale will include a spare tire and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This car has been a showstopper on display within my sports car museum and shared the floor with some of the greatest sports cars of all time!”

@RGW445 of course. I bet that is a blast!

  • RGW445 (registered bidder) 1 day, 18 hoursago

@thegonz thanks for the response. I have a Kremer built 73 RS. Kremer did a 3.0l swap when the car was new - hence my inquiry.

  • thegonz (seller) 1 day, 18 hoursago

@RGW445 The engine is stamped 67E00285 and the transmission reads 930/34 77E00355, both correct for a 1983 production year Turbo and appropriate for a Kremer build of this era. While Kremer did indeed perform performance swaps on some of their cars, this example appears to have retained its original drivetrain.

  • RGW445 (registered bidder) 2 days, 8 hoursago

Does it have the original engine and gearbox (numbers matching). I know Kremer did engine swaps on some of their cars. If that’s the case with this car, is it the original Kremer unit?

For those unfamiliar with the significance of DP Motorsport and Kremer Racing, you're looking at a car with deep motorsport DNA. Kremer Racing, founded by the Kremer brothers in Cologne, Germany, was one of the most successful Porsche privateer teams in history. Their crowning achievement? Winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans outright in 1979 with their legendary 935 K3—beating factory teams with their independent ingenuity.
DP Motorsport, meanwhile, was the brains behind much of that aerodynamic wizardry. Founded by Ekkehard Zimmermann, DP was the design and fabrication powerhouse that sculpted the aggressive lightweight bodywork that defined the Kremer Porsches. Their work wasn’t just for show—every vent, every flare, every surface was honed on the track.
What you’re seeing here is the result of a collaboration between two titans of Porsche tuning and motorsport engineering. It's not just a street car, it's a street-legal tribute built by the very people who made history at Le Mans. DP and Kremer weren’t just builder, they were innovators. This car is a rolling homage to their dominance on the world stage.

Question: Can I be in love with these cars and this era? DPs, Gemballa, and early RUF cars? These cars are SOOOO under rated IMHO.

    Updated sound system!!!!

  • Cg123 5 days, 18 hoursago

Porsche did run upside down gearboxes in some the 935s for layout and axle geometry. Despite the mention of it on the letter in the gallery, the gearbox in this car is not inverted. It is a standard 930 gearbox. It is possible that there may be internal modifications which was often done at the time such as a different ring and pinion etc. But this gearbox is not flipped upside down. Very cool car GLWTA :-)

  • thegonz (seller) 5 days, 19 hoursago

@analogmike Thank you! That is very cool and great to know. Driving it is all about classic feel with modern performance. There's no way you aren't grinning ear to ear cruising the streets in this!

  • analogmike (registered bidder) 5 days, 19 hoursago

The factory wanted to lower the engine in the 935 for better handling, but the axles would be at a severe angle which would have reduced their durability. So they discovered mounting the transmission upside down improved the axle angle. Very cool that they did this on the street version.

Here is the driving video as promised. This is a road legal race car with comfort!

  • thegonz (seller) 5 days, 20 hoursago

@autotrend Information in the gallery photos 238 and 245 states that the transmission has been mounted upside down and the car has a Kremer modified transmission. I would love for a Porsche expert to check out the photos of the transmission and maybe shine some light on this and as to why they would mount the transmission upside down! There is no slip, pop outs, grinds, whines etc.

  • thegonz (seller) 5 days, 20 hoursago

@vichang4 The black cylinder is actually an oil tank for the additional turbo oil cooling system. That oil is changed in conjunction with the engine oil.

  • thegonz (seller) 5 days, 20 hoursago

@boattail From my understanding it was a clerical reporting error from Renn Haus Motorcars. The FL DMV reported an odometer reading of 15,380 miles in January of 2008. Given the originality and exceptional condition of this car, it is implausible that this car was driven 58k miles in the span of barely 5 years. I have purchased several cars for my collection from the previous owner of this car and know personally he does not use his cars in that way.

  • thegonz (seller) 5 days, 20 hoursago

@upshift4 Great question! It seems to be a left-right toggle switch that may be from the original radar system that was reportedly top tech for the time. I will check it out again Monday and report my findings.

  • thegonz (seller) 5 days, 20 hoursago

@Bruce914 The car is driven twice a month at minimum, it's too good not to! It is on display with 45+ other rare sports cars inside of my museum and cared for as such. My entire collection is manual, plated, insured, and in good operating condition. I have a driving video I will have uploaded today.

  • thegonz (seller) 5 days, 20 hoursago

@CharlieFerer There is no AC compressor present on the car. It has heat and passive air (as well as heated seats).
Tires are dated (0823). This example has a clean title and is ready for next owner.

  • Autotrend (registered bidder) 5 days, 20 hoursago

the script says modified 4 speed. can you explain further?

Welcome to the auction, enthusiasts and collectors!
You're looking at something truly special, Kremer 001. The very first example of the Porsche 935 Kremer G5 Street 2, hand-built in 1983 by the motorsport legends at Kremer Racing in Cologne, Germany.
This car began life as a Porsche 930 Turbo and was transformed by Kremer into a no-expense-spared homage to the extreme Group 5 era, using race-derived components, DP bespoke bodywork, and K27 turbocharged performance to create a street-legal monster with pure motorsport DNA. It’s one of reportedly just nine cars ever built, and this is the first, Kremer chassis #001 G5 Street 2 produced.
It’s a road-going statement from one of motorsport’s most respected names. Fast, wild, rare, and ready to be the crown jewel of any Porsche collection.
I will do my best to answer any questions or provide further details. Thanks for checking it out, and good luck to all the bidders.
