Up for auction is this 1984 Porsche 928 S finished in Slate Blue Metallic over a Midnight Blue leather interior. Acquired by the current owner in 2016, this rare 5-speed 1984 example benefits from a recently replaced engine as well as a new timing belt, clutch, ball joints, an alternator, and more. It is now being offered for auction out of Massachusetts showing approximately 71k miles on the odometer.
This 928 S has been refinished in its original shade of Slate Blue Metallic, a distinctive 1980s Porsche color offered on the 928 from 1983-1984. The 928 S can be identified by its front and rear spoilers and this example features tinted windows as well as black painted 16” Manhole Cover alloy wheels dressed in a set of Kumho Ecsta tires. The seller reports some minor imperfections throughout the exterior, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features a 2+2 seating configuration and comes trimmed in Midnight Blue leather with matching carpets. Equipment includes a digital clock in the center console, power windows, a power sunroof, climate control with A/C, and a Pioneer stereo paired with upgraded speakers throughout. The seller reports all gauges and accessories remain fully functional.
This 928 S is equipped with a naturally aspirated 4.7L V8 engine driving the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. A replacement engine was reportedly installed in 2021 and other recent service is said to include a new timing belt, clutch, upper and lower front-end ball joints, a new alternator, battery, and central control unit.
This sale will include a spare tire, air pump, and a clean title. For any driver in search of a vintage transaxle Porsche, this 5-speed 928 S is certainly worth consideration.
