We are pleased to offer this 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera M491 Coupe finished in Quartz Grey Metallic over a Burgundy leather interior. Featuring the optional M491 package, this “Turbo Look” 911 is factory configured with the widebody, front and rear spoilers, brakes, and suspension of the Turbo model. Reported to have been maintained by its current owner since 1994, this lifelong west-coast example has undergone some major service including the rebuild and re-gearing of the 5-speed manual transmission by Rothsport Racing. It is now being offered by its seller in Oregon with approximately 136k miles shown on the odometer.
In 2004, this Carrera is said to have undergone a professional glass-out respray in its uncommon factory color of Quartz Grey Metallic (662/X5). During this time, all new body seals and exterior trim were installed and the seller indicates the finish to remain in very good overall condition (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). The factory M491 package includes the widebody, front spoiler, and Tea Tray rear decklid seen on the Turbo model. 16” Turbo-spec Fuchs wheels are equipped and dressed in new Bridgestone Potenza tires.
Inside, this 911 is appointed with an attractive Burgundy leather interior with factory Sport Seats. Other options include a sunroof, automatic speed control, and a Blaupunkt radio which is said to remain functional along with all other gauges and accessories.
This Carrera is powered by an air-cooled 3.2 L flat-six engine upgraded with SSI heat exchangers. 207 HP stock is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission which has been rebuilt and re-geared by Rothsport in 2008 at 130k miles. As an M491 example, this 911 features the upgraded Brembo brakes and wide suspension setup from the 930 Turbo model. Upgraded torsion bars have been installed as well. The following items are said to have been carried out under the current ownership at the corresponding intervals.
130K Miles (2008)
132K Miles (2011)
133K Miles (2015)
134K Miles (2016)
135K Miles (2018)
136K Miles (2020)
This sale will include a set of 2 keys, an owner’s manual, tools, and a spare tire. This well-maintained M491 Carrera offers the perfect opportunity for any air-cooled driving enthusiast, do not miss out.

@gpmotors if there was anything wrong when I received, how would we resolve ?
@gpmotors thank you, I know the issue is much the same for people on other side of USA but it is quite a scary prospect of buying a pup.. and only discovering after your home... the current global pandemic also doesn’t really help. thank you for your reply
@kvtexhaust thank you, much appreciated
@Rox We have shipped cars to germany multiple times. Shipping across the ocean should not be a concern. You would be looking at around $2,000-$3,000 in shipping to get it to you.
As far as the condition, the car is impeccable. If you have more questions, contact me directly and we can speak over the phone.
@Fresnofile I didn't. I asked if it had any rebuild documentation other than the reseal.
@Rox Not with the team over there but this may help.
Between the really good walk around video all the photos, really detailed write up and your ability to ask question here or directly to seller, I’d say other than transport to Scottsdale , you’re looking pretty good.

@Das_5 Where are you seeing this car had a rebuild?
If I bid this and win... what’s the next steps in getting it to Scotland with confidence and what’s the situation in regards any major deviation from ‘as described’ guys ?

@550bryan Yes, the AC has been removed from the vehicle
@das_5 No documentation on engine rebuild. It has been in the hands of a Porsche mechanic and very well cared for.
Unusual to see on of these without AC, it appears form the controls on the console that it was originally equipped with the feature and it has apparently been removed?
Any engine rebuild documentation other than the reseal?

In case you’ve not seen it in person, Quartz Grey is a really great color. It’s hard to capture in photos. Best described as brown most of the time but the “grey” tone shows in certain light. It is rich and very period chic imho.
