Originally designated for the U.S. market with customer factory pickup through Porsche’s Tourist Delivery program, this 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe is finished in Ruby Red Metallic over a Burgundy interior and features optional leather Sport Seats, 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels, and a limited-slip differential. The car spent several years in Europe before it was imported by the original owner’s family to New York where it remained registered up until 2017. It was purchased out of Georgia by the seller through PCARMARKET in 2023 and has since received valve adjustments, new valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, brake lines, a new headliner, and a Steve Wong performance chip. Previously listed on PCARMARKET, this Carrera Coupe is now being offered for auction by its owner out of California with just over 28k miles showing on the odometer.
This 911 is finished in Ruby Red Metallic (L810), a new paint color offered on the 911 Carrera for the inaugural 1984 model year. It has been fitted with Turbo-style front and rear spoilers and features integrated fog lights, headlamp washers, black stone guard decals, and a chrome Fabspeed exhaust tip. The car rides on factory 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels dressed in Bridgestone Potenza RE-17R tires from 2018. The seller indicates some cosmetic imperfections around the exterior and that the hood and rear decklid were previously refinished. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features a pair of optional Sport Seats in Burgundy leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Accessories include a three-spoke leather steering wheel, power windows, air conditioning, cruise control, an analog quartz clock, and an aftermarket Alpine stereo. The seller indicates the headliner and dashboard were recently reupholstered, the sunroof has been serviced, and the A/C system was converted to R134a under previous ownership. The original radio is also included in the sale.
An air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 207 HP to the rear wheels through a 5-speed Type 915 manual transaxle and an optional limited-slip differential (40%). An aftermarket Fabspeed cat-bypass exhaust is equipped, and a Steve Wong performance ECU chip was installed by the current owner. The original chip and exhaust are included in the sale. Service in 2020 at approximately 27k miles included replacing the drive belts, motor mounts, rear brakes, clutch, flywheel, oil lines, hoses, and more. Since purchasing the car in late 2023, the seller has also overseen replacements of the spark plugs, ignition wires, valve cover gaskets, engine and gearbox oil, brake fluid, brake lines, air filter, and valve adjustments.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, the original radio, the original exhaust and catalytic converter, an upgraded MSD digital ignition control module, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “The new 911 Carrera was introduced in 1984 and came with a larger 3.2-liter engine as well as revised bodywork, brakes, electronics, and suspension technology. This inaugural-year example comes finished in Ruby Red Metallic over a Burgundy full leather interior with an optional limited-slip differential and Sport Seats. I have owned the car for a short time. My goal was to keep and drive this car for many years. I was hit with a medical condition that in all likelihood will prevent me from achieving my goal.”

Someone is going to get a remarkable 911 with super low miles, documentation, maintenance completed, and drives great. If my body would let me I would not be selling, but life happens.
The driving video is from when I bought the car in Dec of last year. There is I believe about 30-40 miles different from when I bought the car to this auction. The other videos are from the most recent auction a few months ago. I have put just a few miles on the car since then.

The driving video posted is from Georgia, and based on the tree colors, last fall (or some fall). Any reason a more recent driving video wasn't done for this auction? Are the other videos also from last Fall?
I really like the color combination. Great looking example. I wish it were closer.
This is a one of a kind fantastic car. With a documented history and everything recently done, it is ready to be driven for many miles to come.

We are getting close to the end of the auction. If there are any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Zuch. I have been under the car and saw nothing loose or worn. All the bushing looked in great shape. The car is 100% stock other than the Steve Wong chip and the exhaust. Per the video, it sounds like the driver is hitting manhole covers. When I have driven the car I hear the normal sounds of a sport-tuned suspension at work, it's tight. The car drives wonderfully.
The spray was done on 3/18/21 per the receipts for $3,408. The company is still in business and is rated high.
If you are in the San Diego area or have someone close they would be more than welcome to stop by and see the car in person. It's a great car and I want it to go to someone that will drive it and take care of it.

Very nice car. Can you comment on the color match of the repainted panels? It is almost impossible to tell via photos. Also, sound like the suspension is pretty noisy. There are some loud clunks in the video (10 seconds, 23 seconds, 116 seconds and 130 seconds). Any idea what is loose or worn?
