Originally designated for the U.S. market with customer factory pickup through Porsche’s Tourist Delivery program, this 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe is finished in Ruby Red Metallic over a Burgundy interior and features optional leather Sport Seats, 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels, and a limited-slip differential. The car spent several years in Europe before it was imported by the original owner’s family to New York where it remained registered up until 2017. It was purchased out of Georgia by the seller through PCARMARKET in 2023 and has since received valve adjustments, new valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, brake lines, a new headliner, and a Steve Wong performance chip. Showing just over 28k miles on the odometer, this Carrera Coupe is now being offered for auction by its owner out of California.

This 911 is finished in Ruby Red Metallic (L810), a new paint color offered on the 911 Carrera for the inaugural 1984 model year. It has been fitted with Turbo-style front and rear spoilers and features integrated fog lights, headlamp washers, black stone guard decals, and a chrome Fabspeed exhaust tip. The car rides on factory 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels dressed in Bridgestone Potenza RE-17R tires from 2018. The seller indicates some cosmetic imperfections around the exterior and that the hood and rear decklid were previously refinished. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin features a pair of optional Sport Seats in Burgundy leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Accessories include a three-spoke leather steering wheel, power windows, air conditioning, cruise control, an analog quartz clock, and an aftermarket Alpine stereo. The seller indicates the headliner and dashboard were recently reupholstered, the sunroof has been serviced, and the A/C system was converted to R134a under previous ownership. The original radio is also included in the sale.

An air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 207 HP to the rear wheels through a 5-speed Type 915 manual transaxle and an optional limited-slip differential (40%). An aftermarket Fabspeed cat-bypass exhaust is equipped, and a Steve Wong performance ECU chip was installed by the current owner. The original chip and exhaust are included in the sale. Service in 2020 at approximately 27k miles included replacing the drive belts, motor mounts, rear brakes, clutch, flywheel, oil lines, hoses, and more. Since purchasing the car in late 2023, the seller has also overseen replacements of the spark plugs, ignition wires, valve cover gaskets, engine and gearbox oil, brake fluid, brake lines, air filter, and valve adjustments.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, the original radio, the original exhaust and catalytic converter, an upgraded MSD digital ignition control module, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “The new 911 Carrera was introduced in 1984 and came with a larger 3.2-liter engine as well as revised bodywork, brakes, electronics, and suspension technology. This inaugural-year example comes finished in Ruby Red Metallic over a Burgundy full leather interior with an optional limited-slip differential and Sport Seats. I have owned the car for a short time. My goal was to keep and drive this car for many years. I was hit with a medical condition that in all likelihood will prevent me from achieving my goal.”

If anyone has questions please ask me and I will do my best to answer them. If you do some searching you should find more info on the car. This is the information I used to buy this 911. With the maintenance completed and the upgrades done to the interior, the car is ready to get in and drive. This is an outstanding older 911 with a wonderful color and low miles. Again, ask questions. Thanks, Rick

Hi jackal0506, I don't hear a whine in the transmission when I have driven the car. It shifts through all the gears nicely with no issues. I believe the suspension is tight for a 40-year-old car. When I was under the car I checked that all the suspension parts were tight, and everything looked good to me. Yes, this video was shot by the previous owner and he allowed me to use it for my sale. I think It was shot in Dec 2023. I have put a total of 36 miles on the car. My goal was to go through and do all the maintenance items and all the add-ons and then drive it. I achieved the first part. Someone is going to get a very good 911.

    Thank you for the video.
A few questions, is there a transmission whine or is there a sound the camera is picking up?
Also the suspension sounded like it was. a little loose over bumps, is there suspension tight? and finally I noticed the trees were changing color in the back ground , is this an older video ( was it filmed this year?)
I'm interested in this and want to be through. thank you

Andersenrandy, no worries, I reread the listing and did not see it. In a moment of panic, I thought I made a mistake. Thank you about the color, It's different and I love it.

  • Rickw96 (seller) 5 months, 2 weeksago

Hi Andersenrandy, I have not adjusted the ride height, it is the same as when I bought the car. The green shocks show no leakage. The seats are original, I have not changed them. I purchased the car, did the maintenance items listed, and then got my diagnosis. I just want the car to go to someone that will appreciate and take care of it.

  • Rickw96 (seller) 5 months, 2 weeksago

jackal0506. Per the Carfax and from the previous owner the car has not been in an accident.
The previous owner stated some cosmetic imperfections around the exterior and that the hood and rear decklid were previously refinished. I have uploaded pictures of the cosmetic imperfections.
When I was cleaning the underside of the 911, I looked at the suspension busings; they all looked original. I did not see any split or degraded bushings. We did shoot a drive video. I will have it uploaded ASAP

  • Rickw96 (seller) 5 months, 2 weeksago

Andersenrandy, you are correct. My bad I will update the listing. Thanks

  • jackal0506 (registered bidder) 5 months, 2 weeksago

Has the car had any accident damage or paint work?
Due to the age of the car , has any suspension bushing been replaced?
Can you provide a drive video?
    Thank you !

I made a mistake - I had the wrong car. Sorry about that. Never mind my last post. I will pay better attention next time. Beautiful car BTW. Love the color .

  • Andersenrandy (registered bidder) 5 months, 2 weeksago

You bought the car August 2022 on PCARMARKET - the mileage showed then was approximate 122,000. The millage in this listing indicates 28,438. I am assuming you meant 128,438. In the previous listing it indicated this car was professionally lowered and aligned to European specs. The car to me looks a little higher now. Have you changed the ride height? Also are those the same seats when you bought the car?
