Up for auction is this low mileage 1984 911 Carrera Cabriolet. Making its debut in 1984, the highly updated Carrera 3.2 was the last iteration of the original 911 series and would become one of the most quintessential sports cars of the 1980’s. Originally purchased by two sisters in Cincinnati, this car was sparingly driven before finally being sold to a dealer in 2014. From there, this car found its way to San Diego where it was up-kept by an enthusiast who would go on to earn 1st place in the PCA Concours at Spanish Landing. Now showing just 38,382 original miles, this special Slate Blue Cabriolet remains in exceptional, highly-original condition and is being offered for auction by its current owner out of San Diego, California.
Finished in unique and beautiful Slate Blue, a previous owner of this car had admitted to spending years in search of a Cabriolet in this exact color. Looked after and always garage-kept, the paint on this Cabriolet is stated to remain in excellent, highly-original overall condition. As per paint meter readings, the seller states that only one quarter panel was professionally repainted due to cosmetic reasons. This car rides on desirable factory Fuchs wheels that also remain in untouched, original condition. All glass and factory decals are fully intact and a brand-new cloth Cabriolet top has recently been fitted.
Making for a highly desirable color combination, the beige leather interior offsets this Carrera's exterior perfectly. The seller confirms that this factory original interior is in immaculate condition, exhibiting only minor signs of wear. All instruments, gauges, and electronics are in proper working order and the A/C is fully functional. This 911 retains its original factory optioned Blaupunkt “Monterey” radio as well as trunk tools and jack. This Cabriolet is a true time capsule.
A massive update over its predecessors, the 911 Carrera 3.2 boasted all new braking, electronic and suspension technologies as well as an 80% new 3.2L flat-six engine. This Carrera’s numbers matching power plant delivers 207HP to the rear wheels by way of a coveted 5-speed 915 manual transmission; allowing for a 0-60 time of 6.3 seconds and a top speed of around 150mph. From factory, the larger brakes, updated suspension, and improved Bosch electronic fuel injection all make for an ideal driving experience. This Carrera has been regularly maintained by Makellos Classics and comes with a clean bill of health. Complete with extensive service records and a new battery, this 911 has only been driven approximately 500 miles in the last three years and is ready to be enjoyed for a long time to come.
The sale will include a clean Carfax, original documentation, original window sticker, service records, tool kit, spare tire, and jack. The seller will also be including a Porsche front bra, boot cover, and custom car cover.
