The Mercedes-Benz 380SL was offered as the premier SL-Class roadster in the North American market from 1981 to 1985, featuring a fuel-injected 3.8-liter V8 engine. This 1984 example is finished in Classic White over a Palomino leather interior and is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission, a removable hardtop, Tempomat cruise control, automatic climate control, power windows, disc brakes, power steering, and 14” light alloy wheels. Said to have remained garage-kept under the care of its original owner before the selling dealer’s acquisition, this SL is now being offered for auction out of Florida with approximately 83k miles showing on the odometer.
This R107-generation SL-Class roadster is finished in Classic White (737U) with a matching removable hardtop and a new retractable black canvas convertible roof. Equipment includes chrome trim, bumpers, and fender flares, dual chrome mirrors, front fog lights, an automatic antenna, heat-insulating glass, and factory 14” Bundt light alloy wheels. The seller describes the car’s paint to be in very good overall condition. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features Palomino leather (254A) upholstery with matching carpets, a black dashboard, and burl wood trim. Accessories include a four-spoke steering wheel, power windows, automatic climate control, Tempomat cruise control, a folding front armrest, an outside temperature indicator, and a newer Mercedes-Benz radio. The seller reports the A/C blows cold and all gauges and accessories remain fully functional.
A fuel-injected 3.8-liter M116 V8 engine delivers up to 156 HP and 196 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission. The car features a fully independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and servo-assisted recirculating ball steering. The seller invites any interested bidders to order a third-party inspection of the car.
This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “A one-owner Florida car, always garaged since new. The books and manuals are with the car. It has a new German canvas soft top (black) along with a removable hardtop and runs and drives excellent with very cold A/C.”
