Available for auction is this 1983 Porsche 944 finished in Guards Red over a brown interior. Improving upon the original 924 front-engine sports car design, the Porsche 944 was introduced in Europe for the 1982 model year featuring improved suspension, brakes, and a new inline four-cylinder engine. This 1983 example was among the first available in the United States and comes equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. Described to be a project car in mechanically sound condition, this 944 is now being offered for auction at no reserve by its seller out of Colorado.
This 944 comes finished in a classic Guards Red and features distinctive pop-up headlights, integrated front fog lights, modified black painted mirrors, and a black polyurethane spoiler surrounding the glass rear hatch. It rides on factory 15” ATS Cookie Cutter wheels dressed in Kumho tires from 1998. The seller notes exterior blemishes including dents, stone chips, rain damage, and paint weathering. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The interior features newly upholstered front seats in brown leather along with brown carpeting and vinyl trimming throughout. Factory equipment includes an optional air-conditioning system, power windows, a sunroof, and an analog clock. Additionally, it has been fitted with an aftermarket Jensen MPR210 radio. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.
A naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline-four engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle delivering up to 150 HP and 142 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Standard features include four-wheel independent suspension, power-assisted rack and pinion steering, and power-assisted ventilated disc brakes. The owner states the oil and filter have been changed in preparation for sale.
This sale will include a clean title and one key.

@1991928gt The car runs and drives great, a lot of the questions you have asked can best be answered by a test drive video, I will do my best to get a test drive video tomorrow. The reason this is described as a project car is due to the cosmetic flaws that I have described in the listing and photo gallery.
What are the two switches missing directly behind the gear shifter knob? Does the car have any electrical gremlins? What doesn't work electronically in the car? Sunroof? Thanks and sorry for the direct questions.
can you show a temperature gun picture while the AC is blowing?
Can you post a video of the car driving thru the gears? Also a video of the RPMs while the car is accelerating thru the gears(ideally going up hill)?
Any electrical gremlins? What electronics do not work?
What are the known flaws? Does it require a new transmission? Does the cylinder head have a crack? Can you provide independently leak down and/or compression test results? Would you attest that no head gasket sealer has been poured into the crank case? What makes it a project car to your best knowledge?
Bid in the amount of $1,750
