Up for auction is this 1983 Porsche 911 SC Targa finished in Black over a Dark Brown/Black leather interior. This well-maintained driver’s example features a classic Porsche tea tray rear spoiler and benefits from a professional glass-out repaint along with a top-end engine rebuild. This well presented 911 is ready to be enjoyed for years to come and is being listed by its owner out of Encinitas, California.
The black exterior is said to be in excellent condition (detailed images are available in the photo gallery). Approximately 6 years ago this Targa is said to have had a professional glass-out respray in its original color with all new rubber seals and trim pieces installed. The Targa top underwent a recent restoration and also remains in great shape. Exterior details include an iconic tea tray spoiler along with a set of chrome Fuchs wheels wrapped in Yokohama tires.
Inside, the Dark Brown/Black leather interior is stated to be in fair condition with some wear present (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). This Targa features power windows, power mirrors and an aftermarket head unit. A dash cover has been installed and the seller reports that the air conditioning is currently non-functional.
Power comes from a 3.0-liter flat-six air-cooled engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Upon the sellers purchase, a complete top-end engine rebuild was is said to have been performed bringing this Targa to top running condition (Receipts of maintenance will be included in the sale.) This Targa is up to date on service and ready to be enjoyed with only a minor oil leak reported by the seller.

@jspearin Hi, the leak is so small that the two times I've attempted to have a Porsche mechanic try to find the source they were unable. I provided the pictures from below the motor because that is the area where the leak slowly drips down from and as you can see there is no noticeable built up of oil. I guess that is a long winded way of saying that I don't really know, but it isn't serious. The last guy I spoke with thought it could be the seal where the crank shaft goes into the motor and thought it would be a relatively easy fix with an aftermarket seal that does not require the motor to be taken apart , but that was just an educated guess.
The description notes a minor oil leak. Any additional details on where the leak appears to be coming from?
