This 1983 Porsche 911 Turbo was produced for the European market and is one of 1,105 examples built during the model year. It comes finished in blue over a black and tan interior and derives power from a turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six engine paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle. It features 930SE-style body modifications and is said to have been acquired by the seller from its original owner after it had been sitting in a temperature-controlled garage for nearly two decades. Having since been treated to an engine rebuild and clutch replacement, this Euro-spec 930 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York.
This 911 Turbo is finished in blue and is said to have been completely repainted under prior ownership. The wide Turbo-specific bodywork has been modified with 930SE Slant Nose style fender air intakes, boxed rocker panels, and a front valence with integrated fog lights. Equipment includes Euro-spec side marker lights, slim Euro-spec rear bumperettes, H4 headlights, a Tea Tray rear spoiler, a rear window wiper, an aftermarket roof-mounted antenna, and a black dual-tipped exhaust outlet. The car rides on 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels dressed in Bridgestone Potenza tires. The seller notes the exterior remains in good overall condition with some light scratches, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is lined with tan carpeting which is contrasted by black leather seats with a matching dashboard, door panels, and a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel. Equipment includes power windows and mirrors, air conditioning, a locking glovebox, and a vintage Blaupunkt New York SQR 83 stereo paired with aftermarket speakers in the doors and rear parcel shelf. The seller indicates the A/C system has been upgraded and the gauges are fully functional.
The turbocharged and intercooled European-spec 3.3-liter flat-six engine produces up to 300 HP and drives the rear wheels by way of a 4-speed manual transaxle. An engine rebuild was completed under current ownership along with the installation of a new clutch. Some minor oil leaks are noted after the car is parked. An invoice for the engine rebuild is provided in the gallery along with the car's original import documents.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, import documentation, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

@agmezger Thank you
Fantastic car and clearly well maintained.
Definitely looks like Petrol Blue to me as well. Which is a beautiful color.
I believe this is " Petrol Blue". Kind of blue/green. Great color!
@Dario - NOT saying there is anything "wrong" with it. Just due to diff in rules/laws, in diff places, US cars in the 80s sat about 1" or so higher. Porsche would - basically - just crank the cars up to meet the US bumper height standards. It DOES look right for a US car, but it's a ROW car. FOR SURE, when it was federalized, they could have simply raised it. Can we returned in like 1 hour :)

@Dario - I’m sure the owner was extremely particular- the car is beautiful and well sorted. However, unless the camera/filters are playing tricks on my eyes, that just does not look like Venetian Blue - which is lighter with slate/grey accents. I had a Venetian Blue 911. It also was not offered until 1987. If you can point to the paint code the issue would be easily resolved.

Hi Slantbird, the color is the exact factory match, as I mentioned the original owner was very particular about his Porsche.
Interesting 930, the color appears way too dark to be Venetian Blue however. Was the color changed when repainted?
Hi GrandNatty, Great question no-one has ever questioned the cars hight. I really do not know but I believe it sits perfect.
@Dario - looks like it's sitting a bit high for a ROW car, know if they raised it as part of Federalization?
The reason for selling (3) kids ..... One graduated college, One still in college and One going to Grad School.
@Octavian The engine is just breaking in, so it is just a matter of torching up everything. I will has it taken care of.
@Dario
Also, apologies for failing to ask in my earlier comment, but could you share your reason for selling at this juncture? Thanks
@seller
Beautiful car, and great to have just a well defined ownership history.
Can you comment on potential sources for the oil leak, given the recent reseal?
HI everyone and thank you for viewing my 1983 930 Porsche. I had the great opportunity to purchase this 930 from a German gentleman that was the original owner. He purchased this 930 from the Porsche showroom in Stuttgart Germany. The gentleman was so particular about his car that when the car was scratched, he had the car completely painted. When I acquired the car I had the engine completely rebuilt even though it had only 46K miles. This 930 Porsche drives and shifts unbelievably smooth and the color can only really be appreciated in person.
The exhaust does not have cats. Radio is the original stock Blaupunkt cassette player. I also had an 1987 930, both great engineering marvels !
I definitely miss my 1987 and 930 turbo that I sold a couple of years ago
Wondering about the exhaust on this European model, and whether it has cats in the exhaust system for California registration and emissions requirement
Also, the existing radio is stock, correct , a Blaupunkt and a cassette player only
Thank you
