This final-year Porsche 911SC Targa was acquired by the seller as a non-running project car in 2015 and was sold to a client who refurbished and customized the car over the next 7 years. It features RSR-style bumpers, RS door panels, a MOMO steering wheel, a 930 front sway bar, Koni shock absorbers, and a replacement European-spec engine mated to a rebuilt close-ratio 5-speed manual transmission. This tastefully modified 911SC is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Mexico.
This 911SC has been refinished in Guards Red and customized with a rocker panel delete as well as fiberglass RSR-style bumpers at the front and rear. Equipment includes a black Targa roll hoop, a removable roof panel, a heated rear window, H4 headlights, a single tailpipe, a tail panel reflector with Porsche lettering, and 16” Fuchs alloy wheels dressed in new Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires. The seller notes some fine scratches are present in the paint as well as rock chips on the front end and fading on the bumpers. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing damage in 2022.
The black interior has been customized with lightweight RS door panels, a three-spoke MOMO steering wheel, black and red Coco floor mats, and LED lights for the instrument cluster. Other accessories include power windows and mirrors, a heater, a quartz clock, a locking glovebox, a Kenwood stereo, and aftermarket speakers in the door panels. The seller notes the car’s electronics have been replaced and the gauges were restored by North Hollywood Speedometer. Some wear is also noted on the driver’s seat bolster.
Power comes from a rebuilt replacement 3.0-liter flat-six engine which was sourced from a European-spec 1983 Porsche 911SC. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transaxle which was rebuilt by Vertex Auto and modified with close-ratio gears. The car also features SSI heat exchangers, a sport muffler, a 930 front sway bar, and Koni shock absorbers. The seller notes annual service has been carried out and corresponding records are included with the sale.
This sale will include a toolkit, an air pump, some documentation, and a clean title.

Very fair price and nice to see loved and driven examples not having reserves north of $40k+ finally. Would’ve totally gone a bit higher if it was closer to home base for me, good sell and good buy!

@Ram3k 30,000 miles have been put on the car since the engine and tranny have been rebuilt.
@seller - Great. About how many miles were driven since the time of the engine and transmission rebuild ?
@Ram3k That is correct. But the engine has much more recently been rebuilt. This car loves to be driven!
@Passion4Porsche - the 1st carfax entry lists miles at over 135,230 miles in 1991. Is the mileage of over 300,000 miles correct ?
Thx
