Based on a 1983 Porsche 911SC, this Coupe has been backdated as a tribute to the legendary 1973 Carrera RS. It comes finished in orange and features a steel long-hood conversion along with RS-style bumpers, a ducktail spoiler, and a race-ready interior. The original 3.0-liter engine breathes through a custom dual exhaust and the car rides on an upgraded suspension with Tarett, Bilstein, and Elephant Racing components. This 911 was thoroughly serviced prior to the current owner’s purchase in 2018 and has since been kept as part of a private collection while sparingly driven and professionally maintained. A visceral air-cooled driving enthusiast's car, this Carrera RS tribute is now being offered for auction out of New York.

This Coupe has been modified with a long-hood conversion including a steel bonnet and backdated slam panel. Fiberglass RS-style bumpers have been installed along with a lightweight fiberglass ducktail spoiler. The body has been stripped to bare metal and refinished in orange with Carrera RS-style graphics along the side and rear decklid. Other details include H4 headlights, removable racing decals, an electric sunroof, and 16” Fuchs wheels measuring 7” wide in front and 8” wide in the rear. Clear paint protection film is applied over the front end and new Pirelli tires were mounted in 2018. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The black interior has been partially stripped and outfitted with a full tig-welded roll cage along with a Sparco Evo3 driver’s seat, MOMO passenger seat, and a set of racing harnesses. The radio, heat, and air conditioning systems have been removed. The dashboard has been replaced and a three-spoke MOMO steering wheel is equipped as well as a Rennline driver’s floorboard, Wevo short shifter, and backdated RS instrumentation.

For the 1983 model year, the 911SC gained the improved engine case of the upcoming Carrera 3.2 model. The original 3.0-liter flat-six in this 911 has also been upgraded with Carrera chain tensioners, Turbo valve covers, Elephant Racing oil lines, Wevo mounts, a custom dual-exit exhaust, and modified cam timing to complement the free-flowing CIS system. Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual gearbox including an upgraded sport clutch, Wevo mount, and shifter joint. Upgraded stainless steel brake lines have also been equipped along with Bilstein shocks, Elephant Racing bushings and spring plates, Tarett sway bars, Turbo tie rods, and a bump-steer kit. Service completed in 2017 at Euroclassics of Virginia included a new alternator, rear shock absorbers, brake calipers, brake pads, horn button wiring, and sunroof cables. Since the current owner’s purchase in 2018, new brake pads and rotors have been installed in addition to new tires, fluids, and a wheel alignment.

This sale will include a clean title, a numbers matching Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and some maintenance records.

    @EUROsellinc Thanks for pic.

That looks like a Houston SCCA inspection stamp on the cage.

Usually SCCA stamp on cage means a log book was issued.

@pm2207 hi. previous owner did one DE event about 4 years ago. The cage was inspected and a pic will be uploaded shortly.

  • pm2207 (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Is there an inspection hole drilled on the cage?

Was it ever used as a race care? Log book?

  • EUROsellinc (seller) 2 yearsago

@pm2207 the tech that just performed the leak down noticed some minor weeping from the oil cooler.

  • pm2207 (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

@EUROsellinc that feeling has to come from somewhere! Maybe less weight? Or euro parts like a distributor?

"For the 1983 model year, the 911SC gained the improved engine case of the upcoming Carrera 3.2 model. The original 3.0-liter flat-six in this 911 has also been upgraded..."

    Probably a typo, but is it a 3.2L or a 3.0L??

  • EUROsellinc (seller) 2 yearsago

@shutupanddrive Hi and thank you for the interest. Stock they are rated at 201bhp, this feels way quicker than any other SC I have ever driven or been in. Unfortunately, I do not have any dyno figures so don't want to speak inaccurately.

Want to welcome everyone to the auction for this amazing RS Tribute SC. I cannot stress enough how amazing this car drives, I have never driven an SC like it. If you are able to stop by and see it, as well as drive it for yourself before bidding, please do so. We welcome any interested parties.

  • EUROsellinc (seller) 2 yearsago

@drive996 Hello and thank you for the interest. I’m not quite too sure how to answer that. I’m 6ft tall and it’s no problem to get in and out of the car as well as sit in it. I think your worst case scenario is removing the roll cage if it is not comfortable for you, which is not a very big job.

  • drive996 (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

With the roll cage installed, is there a maximum driver height that will fit?
