The sole model produced by the DeLorean Motor Company, the DMC-12 was produced for just two years before the company faced financial difficulties with approximately 9,000 cars produced. By early 1982, DMC entered receivership, leading to reduced factory operations until May. Consolidated International later acquired unsold inventory and partially assembled cars, resuming production to finish the remaining vehicles on the line. These completed 1982 model year cars were re-designated as 1983 models by adjusting their VINs, increasing the number by 5,000, and altering the "CD" to "DD". Among the last models produced, this “1983” example is now being offered for auction by its seller with under 1k miles showing on the odometer.
Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the DeLorean became famous for its unique gull-wing doors and brushed stainless-steel exterior panels. These panels are applied over a fiberglass underbody fixed to a steel frame chassis derived from the Lotus Esprit. Made from SS304 austenitic stainless steel, the panels are resistant to corrosion and can be restored using nonmetallic abrasives. Equipment includes quad headlamps, rear window louvers, lack bumper covers, dual exhaust outlets, and 14”/15” turbine-style cast-alloy wheels wrapped in Tiger Paw tires from 2020. The seller mentions that the engine cover was replaced due to a crack in the original. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is upholstered in grey Bridge of Weir leather featuring two bucket seats with a matching dashboard, door panels, center console, and carpets. Amenities include air conditioning, a digital clock, power windows and side mirrors, and a tilt/telescopic steering wheel. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are confirmed to be in working order.
Power comes from a mid-mounted 2.85-liter V6 engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection which was co-developed by Peugeot-Renault-Volvo. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transaxle. Performance features include a four-wheel independent suspension with telescopic shock absorbers, double wishbones up front and a multilink setup in the rear, and power-assisted disc brakes at all corners. The seller adds that service records dating back to 1993 will accompany the sale.
This sale will include a clean title and a host of documentation.

Hello, was wondering if you had any info on the rear or the T-Panel where it mets the rear louvre. Could you tell if the roof box is lifting? Also, I see extensive paperwork for the car which is great but was wondering if the mileage matches the maintenance records? Last, any cold start or driving videos? Thank you!
