Offered for sale in North America under the Datsun brand from 1979 to 1983, the Nissan 280ZX (S130) was named Motor Trend’s import car of the year in 1979. This final-year example is finished in Thunder Black over a tan leather and suede interior and has remained under single-family ownership since new. It features a 2.8-liter inline-six engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, the “T-Bar” Roof Package, power steering, air conditioning, and more. This Datsun is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Pennsylvania showing just over 46k miles on the odometer with service records dating back to 1983.
Finished in Thunder Black with gold pinstriping, this S130 is equipped with body-colored bumpers and mirrors and the optional T-Bar Roof Package which fits tinted glass removable panels with color-coordinated sunshades, sun visors with wind deflectors, and a color-coordinated storage bag. It rides on 14” silver and gold finished factory 6-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear Intercity tires from 2012. The seller notes minimal chipping below the front nose with some touch-up paint on the hood. It is also stated that the wheels could benefit from a refinish. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings, and a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents tan leather and suede with a matching headliner and carpets. Options include the Leather/Digital Package which adds leather seat trim, digital instrumentation, automatic climate control, bronze tinted glass, heated mirrors, an automatically defogging rear window, and an Ambience sound system. Additional equipment includes a two-spoke steering wheel, manually adjustable front bucket seats, power windows and locks, a digital cassette stereo with an automatic antenna, and center dashboard-mounted triple gauge cluster that houses a quartz clock, a battery voltage meter, and an oil pressure dial.
Powered by a naturally aspirated 2.8-liter L28E inline-six fuel-injected engine, the 280SX sends up to 143 HP and 170 lb.-ft. of torque to its rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transmission. Standard equipment includes disc brakes at each corner, 4-wheel independent suspension, and power steering. The seller notes the car has been fully serviced within the last six weeks.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a window sticker, service records dating back to 1983, the T-top bags, a rear hatch shade, a front nose bra, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is a true well-maintained one-family-owned unrestored 280 ZX that looks, runs, and drives like new! It will make a great addition to a collection or fun cruiser. The car is fully serviced and ready to go and will need nothing! Do not miss out on this opportunity to own a truly low mileage last of the Datsun sports cars before becoming Nissan!”

I ordered a 280zx 2+2 from a CA dealer in 1982. The regular 280 had no back seats but the 2+2 did. I was slightly longer overall and, in my opinion, looked better than the regular version. Also, at that time, due to the heavy smog restrictions on all cars, it was one of the fastest cars on the roads.

@Scrooge1 Thank you for your comment and question. No, the 280s ex did not have many backseats that would’ve been the 2+2 version which was the 280 Z.
They discontinued the 2+2 version up until the 300 ZX came out in 1989, which did have the mini backseats

I owned an '82 280ZX back in my younger rowdy days in S. Florida. My understanding is that the 280ZX was equipped with mini back seats thus with the extended side windows. This car is designated as the 280Z, right???
