Finished in red over a black interior, this 1982 Porsche 911SC Coupe features Turbo-style front and rear spoilers, 16” BBS-Mahle wheels, upgraded SSI heat exchangers, Carrera chain tensioners, a MOMO steering wheel, and factory optional Sport Seats. It was registered in Illinois before being imported to Nova Scotia in the 1990s. The car had been cared for by its previous owner from 2006 until 2022 and is now being offered for auction out of Canada with approximately 89k miles showing on the odometer.

This 911SC Coupe underwent a glass-out repaint in the current red paint color in 2018 and features a Turbo-style front and rear spoiler, front fog lights, an electric sunroof, slim European-style rear bumperettes, painted headlight bezels, and 16” BBS-Mahle basketweave alloy wheels. The seller indicates new tires were mounted within the last 3k miles and the exterior remains in very good overall condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The black interior features a pair of optional Sport Seats, an aftermarket MOMO three-spoke steering wheel, Rennline pedal covers, a Rennline shifter, and Technics cassette stereo. Other accessories include air conditioning, folding rear seatbacks, power windows, an analog clock, a locking glove box, and Porsche-branded floor mats. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.

An air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 180 HP and 175 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed 915 manual transaxle. The engine is said to have been overhauled in 2017 and is upgraded with stainless-steel SSI heat exchangers and oil-fed Carrera chain tensioners.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

I've been receiving inquiries about the logistics of buying this car. I am a registered dealer in Ontario so this is how it would work:
Ontario buyer - USD auction purchase price converted to CDN dollars plus 13% HST applicable. I provide safety and get vehicle licensed for you.
Canadian out of Province buyer - USD auction purchase price converted to CDN dollars plus 5% GST applicable. You pay PST in your province.
U.S buyer -USD auction purchase price remains in USD- no sales tax charged by me.

If an out of Province or U.S buyer wants to drive the car home, I will pick you up at Toronto airport, take you to our local DMV and get you a 10 day travel permit. You will need a drivers licence and proof of insurance.

  • Bulletproofauto (seller) 6 months, 1 weekago

@bassboat it needs absolutely nothing. Will come with a Provincial Safety for an Ontario buyer

  • Bassboat (registered bidder) 6 months, 1 weekago

Will car come safetied? Or are you aware of any reason it would fail? Brakes good, lights? Hand brake, etc all perfect?

@alabamatoy I was waiting for a free hoist. Underside photos have been added to the listing along with a video. We don't drive air cooled Porsches during the winter in Canada. I'm sure you'll agree when you look at the photos.

  • Bulletproofauto (seller) 6 months, 2 weeksago

@tff when the car came to Canada from Illinois in 1994, it was equipped with the rear spoiler according tp previous owner. It is an oem Porsche part as I have uploaded a photo of it. I understand it may have been a factory and/or dealer option along with the BBS rims. I have ordered a PPS (Porsche Production Sheet) through PCNA but it is 3-4 weeks away. It will go to the successful bidder. The most recent owner spent a lot of money refinishing the BBS rims because he was certain they came with the car originally. The rear Euro bumpers cannot be original as this is a U.S delivered car. Having said that it is a very common "upgrade" to the appearance of the car. The cars mileage is correct at 88848 MILES. The previous owner bought this car in 2022 with 84411 MILES. He's a collector and Porsche enthusiast who drives a 992 GT3. He bought this car for his wife which is why he put the Rennline shifter in it. The car has not had any collisions. The front fender was replaced in 2018 when the car underwent a complete paint job because it was not perfect. Have a look at the underside photos I just added. I'm sure you'll be impressed. I know I am.

As the car has asserted history in Illinois, Nova Scotia, and elsewhere in Canada, it is logical to expect exposure to road salt. Why are there no pictures of the underbody?

  • tff (registered bidder) 6 months, 2 weeksago

Nice looking car. A few questions for the seller...
-Are the front & rear spoilers original to the car? If not, can you please clarify if the rear spoiler is a 'turbo' one or non-turbo one. (My understanding is that the rear spoiler is different on a turbo vs non-turbo.)
-The rear bumper looks to be a European version (with the bumperettes spread further apart). Is this original?
-Can you please verify that the mileage is true? Looks like 38k miles in the past 4 years? (Nice to see it driven if that's the case).
-Any accident history (carfax doesn't necessarily have everything)? Noted that a front fender had to be replaced.
    Thank you!

  • Bulletproofauto (seller) 6 months, 2 weeksago

@stacrock thank you for the compliment. It was painted by a previous owner. I was lead to believe it's Guards Red.

  • stacrock 6 months, 2 weeksago

Hi. Such a beautiful red that you painted it with. Do you have the color code by any chance?

  • Bulletproofauto (seller) 6 months, 2 weeksago

The car is located 1 hour from the Niagara Falls Canada/ U.S border. I can assist with the logistics in getting this car shipped anywhere in North America. It is very easy. This car is exempt from DOT EPA requirements as it is over 25 years old. Furthermore it was originally a U.S delivered car. I would also encourage interested bidders to consider a fly and drive to Toronto. I could pick you up at the airport, take you to our DMV to get a 10 day travel permit, you could enjoy our wonderful city and drive the car home. I have ZERO hesitation in recommending this car for a cross country journey.

  • Bulletproofauto (seller) 6 months, 2 weeksago

@Jetpaul so true. It's a shame when these cars are not driven. I sold an 81 SC last year and now this 82. I do believe they are a sweet spot in the air cooled cars. The 3.0 litre loves to rev, not crazy fast but fast enough and when you get the handling sorted out like this one, they are wonderful cars to drive.

  • Jetpaul (registered bidder) 6 months, 2 weeksago

My FIRST Porsche was a 82 911SC in white. I bought it with 88,000 miles in 1990. It was great car!!! But talk about “LOW MILES”. Look at 1990 compared to 34 years later, and the SAME miles!!

  • Bulletproofauto (seller) 6 months, 2 weeksago

@Jetpaul thanks I'm glad you noticed the shifting. I would also point out how smooth this car steers. No steering wheel shaking whatsoever. I've driven a lot of older 911's and this one is incredibly well sorted.

  • Jetpaul (registered bidder) 6 months, 2 weeksago

Looks great!!! All those downshifts to 1st gear in the driving video shows that 915 transaxle has ZERO issues!!!

    GLWTA!!!

  • Bulletproofauto (seller) 6 months, 2 weeksago

@emblematiq I'll get that for you

  • emblematiq (registered bidder) 6 months, 2 weeksago

Is there a picture of the doorjamb plate showing the date of manufacture?

  • Bulletproofauto (seller) 6 months, 2 weeksago

Additional details - BBS rims are 16X7 and 16X8 and were just professionally refinished along with new tires, sale also includes the original steering wheel, shifter and rubber foot pedals.
