This 1982 Porsche 911SC Targa was acquired by the current owner in 2008 and had been sold to the prior owner’s brother by Can Am Motorcars of Florida in 1996. It comes finished in Grand Prix White over a Grey Beige leather interior and comes equipped with front and rear spoilers, Fuchs forged alloy wheels, air conditioning, and a 5-speed manual transaxle. Benefitting from a Carrera chain tensioner upgrade and service history dating back over 20 years, this 911SC Targa is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Idaho while showing under 89k miles on the odometer.
This 911SC is finished in Grand Prix White with black trim pieces, a removable Targa top, a front air dam, and a Carrera whale tail rear spoiler. It rides on 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels that were dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires in 2016 with approximately 4k miles driven since. The seller notes the right front fender was previously replaced and painted, and some road-going wear is present on the front bumper and hood as well as scratches on the right rear fender. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features Grey Beige leather upholstery with replacement brown carpeting and a matching dashboard cover. Accessories include power windows, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, an alarm system, and a retrofitted air-conditioning system. The seller notes the A/C needs to be recharged and the alarm and cruise control are currently inoperable. Some wear is also noted on the gear knob and driver’s door threshold. The seller adds that the clock and oil pressure gauge work intermittently and the speedometer needs to be recalibrated.
An air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 180 HP and 175 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed Type 915 manual transaxle. The seller notes an airbox popoff valve has been installed along with a Carrera chain tensioner kit and the fuel distributor was rebuilt in 2004. More recent service includes new upper and lower engine gaskets at 82k miles, new shocks and struts at 84k miles, and the last oil change which was completed at 88,665 miles.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a spare tire, a car cover, a battery charger, some service records, a service manual, a clean title. and a collection of 10 years’ worth of Porsche Panorama magazines.
The seller would like you to know: “If you have noticed the license plate “Someday”, I had a 68 Firebird when I was first married that I had to sell to buy a work van. At the time I told my wife (Someday) I would buy the car of my dreams. The only reason I am selling the 911 is, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease a few years ago and have a hard time driving it. This car has meant a lot to us, and I would love to see it enjoyed by someone who appreciates what a classic it is.”

Great question.
It’s never been smoked in as long as I have owned it. Over 15 years.
The previous owner did not smoke that I know of.
Did not have any smoke smell when I purchased.
I would not have bought if it had.
@Duainerieker One more question at top of mind. Is this a smokers car, has it ever been smoked in or does it smell of smoke?
100%
I would get the air conditioner recharged for you first.
It would be a great road trip!
Seller, what's your confidence level for this driving back to the Midwest as it sits?

@Duainerieker appreciate your speedy response Duaine! Sounds like a great driver!
@ruf_kühlt The Targa is mechanically sound.
I would probably prioritize getting the air conditioning recharged also door windows tracks need lubricant. Not used much and move slow.
@ruf_kühlt addressing the oil drip. There is a slight oil leak after car has not been run.
It will leave a spot the size of a silver dollar.
No leak down test has been performed.
There is slight rust coloration on floorboards photos 75, 76 but nothing significant.
Bid in the amount of $10,500
Hi Duane, love the story behind the plate, awesome car in general. Sad circumstances to let the car go, but I truly hope to be the diligent steward that gets to care for this car forever! A couple of questions before I begin bidding:
1. Noticed a tiny bit of oil in photo 99, any oil leaks when sitting or was that addressed with the recent gaskets?
2. Have you had any recent leakdown tests? Mechanically sound? Anything you'd prioritize getting looked at?
3. I know the galvanized body was supposed to take care of potential rust but I know these SC's still have some common areas
Thanks!

Just a FYI
If you watch driving video, I’m not the smoothest shifter.
I have Parkinson Disease and have trouble driving it.
This is the only reason why I’m selling.
Thanks for understanding.
Yes air conditioning was last serviced on 7/29/16.
Odometer 84752
Old Freon flush & 134a oz new added.
Install new fan switch and wire ends.
Thanks
Aloha,
Do you know when the A/C lasted worked, you mentioned it needed recharging but noticed No belt installed. Was it ever working while under your ownership...? ( A/C is needed in Hawaii, most times)
Mahalo in advance....
Thank you for viewing my 911!
Years ago buyers trying to buy a 356 and wished they had purchased, when they first had a chance to buying.
Today is still an affordable market for one of Porsche’s most dependable, 911s produced.
This is your opportunity to purchase one.
Don’t let this opportunity slip away.
I would love to answer any question you may have.
Feel free to ask!
That’s again
