Now up for auction is this one-of-a-kind 1982 Porsche 911SC Coupe RSR-style backdate. Completed in 2017 by Dave Kealoha of Sand Diego, California, this custom RSR-style 911 began with a standard 1982 911SC which was completely disassembled, stripped to bare metal, and refinished in Riviera Blue along with steel fender flares, a long hood conversion, ducktail spoiler, and sunroof delete. The cabin was redone with all new upholstery and early-style Sport Seats trimmed in black leather with blue Pepita houndstooth inserts. Power comes from a 964-derived 3.8L flat-six custom built by Mark Kinninger of Black Forest Automotive, which is paired with a rebuilt 5-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. Porsche 930 Turbo brakes were also fitted along with Bilstein shocks, RSR sway bars, a B&B exhaust, and much more. After completion of the build, the car was presented at the 26th annual McCalls Motorworks Revival and the Werks Reunion during the 2017 Monterey Car Week. A true no-expense-spared build, this award-winning RSR-style backdate is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Alabama with under 8k miles showing on the odometer.
This 911SC was fitted with welded steel fender flares, a custom steel sunroof delete panel, a long hood conversion, and a custom fiberglass ducktail spoiler grafted upon an aluminum rear decklid. A custom fiberglass front bumper was also fitted along with a custom through-hood fuel filler. Upon completion of the body modifications, this Coupe underwent a painstaking two-stage bare-metal repaint in the nonmetallic shade of Rivera Blue, an exceedingly rare color originally offered on the 993 and 968 models of the mid-1990s. The exterior was finished off with all new rubber seals and gaskets, new chrome trim, signal lenses, chrome-plated door handles, and silver Carrera script graphics. The paint has been preserved under a layer of clear protective film applied over the front fenders, hood, bumper, lower rockers, lower rear bumper, and forward-facing areas on the rear quarter panels. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The car rides on a set of Braid BZ Fuchs-style wheels dressed in Pirelli P7 Classic tires sized 225/50/15 in front and 285/40/15 in the rear.
Inside, the cabin has been completely redone with new black plush carpeting and a leather-wrapped dashboard with basketweave inserts and chrome trim. The door panels are made from matching basketweave upholstery and feature leather pulls, check straps, and decorative nickel grommets. A set of early-style Sport Seats come trimmed in black leather with blue Pepita houndstooth inserts and feature two-stage heating. An upgraded Wevo shifter has also been equipped with a chrome tower and hardware. The gauges have been completely rebuilt with early-style needles and dials, LED lighting rings, and new glass. The 180-MPH speedometer, 8k-RPM tachometer, oil pressure, and fuel level gauges are all housed within a Riviera Blue painted pinnacle. A Classic Retrofit Electric A/C system with an uprated 170 amp alternator has been installed and the seller notes that the odometer was set to zero miles upon completion of the build.
Built by Mark Kinninger of Black Forest Automotive, the 964-derived twin-plug flat-six engine has been upgraded to a 3.8L displacement with Mahle pistons and cylinders along with a host of other upgrades as listed below:

A dyno-tested output of up to 328 HP is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed 915 manual gearbox which has been rebuilt and fitted with a billet bearing retainer, billet side cover, and new G50 axles, synchros, and dogteeth. A limited-slip differential is equipped and stopping power is handled by Porsche 930 Turbo brake calipers paired with two-piece early-style drilled rotors, a 930 master cylinder, 930 proportioning valve, Porterfield brake pads, and custom brake lines. The suspension has also been overhauled with Bilstein HD shocks and struts, Sway-A-Way torsion bars, Tarett Engineering RSR sway bars, Rennline monoball rear trailing arms bushings, Elephant Racing upper strut mount bushings, and Rebel Racing front and rear low friction bushings sets. Extensive records from the build process are said to accompany the sale and some invoices are provided for reference in the gallery.

@911930RV Dave Kealoha performed the installation on request of the RSR's owner. It's a single condenser, located in the front left fender; the compressor is located in the smugglers box.
Please provide more info on the Classic Retrofit air conditioning, e.g. who did the install, single or dual condenser(s) and locations(s), location of compressor, etc. Thanks

1) It's a regular fuel tank with customer welded filler.
2) The builder (Dave Kealoha) advised that he bumped the wench on his trailer, when he loaded the RSR on the trailer for the fist time after the build.
3) Yes.
4) The vent is for cold A/C air; the clock comes with the car.
Awesome car! A few questions for the seller: 1) Is that a regular fuel tank with a welded on filler, or an actual fuel cell?
2) I get cracking on the fiberglass on aluminum ducktail, but what do you think caused the cracking in the front? Is it bondo?
3) Do the rear windows pop out?
4) It looks like there’s a “vent” where the clock used to be. Is that for heat or just fresh air?

@luis.seneriz You'll have no issue with the seats; as easy ingress/egress and cockpit room as you'll find in any 911 and G-series 911's accommodate larger guys better than any sports car.
Thank you for noticing the compression & leak down, as we didn't mention it in the write-up. We had Black Forest fully checkout the car; valve adjustment compression & leak down test, oil & filter service, new belts, and anything else that might need to be addressed. The Pirelli P7 Classic tires were installed less than 2k miles ago; recently aligned. Mark Kinninger is the lead tech who built the engine & transmission and did all the service on car.
We omitted in the write-up that a Classic Retrofit electric A/C system with uprated 170 amp alternator was installed after the build -- included in the write-up today.

Car is gorgeous. Good choice of oil Valvoline. I’m a retired lubrication engineer, yes Valvoline. Love the ducktail and color. Got ducktail and Valvoline blue die cut stickers on mine water cooled. I’m a bigger guy 260 lbs. I’m concerned about fitting in the car, seats. Can you shine some light on that. Would appreciate driving video. Thanks for providing leak down.
