This 1982 Porsche 911SC Coupe was acquired by the current owner several years ago and has since undergone a custom restoration with backdated bodywork, steel fender flares, saddle leather and blue houndstooth upholstery, upgraded suspension, a big brake kit, and a rebuilt 3.2-liter Carrera engine paired with a G50 manual gearbox. The car was finished off with calibrations by Eurosport Racing and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Illinois.
The car’s bodywork backdate was performed by TRE Motorsports and included welded 911ST-style fender flares and fiberglass bumpers from Rothsport Racing. The car was completely refinished in its original color of Light Blue Metallic and adorned with RS-style “PORSCHE” stripes on each side. Other accessories include black painted trim pieces, bullet-style mirrors, a custom “3.2” decklid grille, dual center-mounted tailpipes, and RSR-style 16” Fuchs wheels. The seller notes one rock chip on the passenger-side fender and states new Continental ExtremeContact tires were mounted in 2022 within the last 100 miles.
The cabin has been lined with classic brown square weave carpeting and redone with new saddle leather and blue houndstooth upholstery including custom door panels and Desser Torino bucket seats. Other additions include backdated gauges, a billet WEVO shifter and gear knob, a leather-wrapped MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, drilled aluminum Rennline pedals, and a modern Alpine Bluetooth stereo. The factory power windows and sunroof remain operational as well as the upgraded Griffith A/C system which features a hidden control panel.
This 911SC was upgraded with the drivetrain of a 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera, consisting of an air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine mated to a 5-speed G50 manual gearbox. The engine and transmission are said to have been rebuilt in 2016 within the last 20k miles and feature an Elephant Racing dual oil cooler kit, SSI heat exchangers, a Dansk sport muffler, and a custom Steve Wong performance chip. An OEM Porsche big brake kit has also been installed and the suspension has been upgraded with a strut tower brace, reinforced rear shock towers, Bilstein dampers, Tarett sway bars, and Elephant Racing bushings and mounts. The seller notes the wiring, gauges, alignment, brakes, and corner balancing were completed by Eurosport Racing.
This sale will include a clean title, three keys, and an extensive collection of receipets.

Wow @jsfried18. Such a wonderful, but tragic story. I'm sorry for your loss. Makes me want the car even more given the care that likely went into restoring it. I wish you and your family the best. Sadly, this will be too expensive for me, but maybe one day I can share the same bond with my son! GLWTA!!

@Mrosilio The back seats have been removed along with the seatbelts.
@jsfried18 Thanks - Any info on the back seat? Is it complete? I see the backs, but photos do not show if there are seat cushions and seat belts.
Thanks
I'm not sure as to why the images that were added are distorted however if you would like a clearer image, please send me a private message with your phone number and I'd be happy to text them to you!
@Gritts04 I just added a few images from what I have. Please not that one image is just the tac welding before it was seam welded and the other is a mock up.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
Are there any photos of any body work including the installation of the fender flares? How straight and original was the tub?
@Mrosilio I believe the photos you are referring to are the oil tank. It was stripped cleaned and repainted. As for the gas tank it was also cleaned and reinstalled as it was in great condition.
@Bills007 Yes! The car is finished in its factory original light blue metallic.
@NickW21 My family has had Porsches for decades. In 2019 my father and I decided to do a resto-mod together, hence how this car came about. This was a no expense spared conversion because we not only wanted to do it right, but also because we planned to keep and share the car forever. About a year into the resto-mod conversion my Father was unfortunately diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In addition to making this car perfect for us to enjoy in the limited time we then had together, he wanted to squeeze in as many life-long dreams as he could. On the Porsche front that included acquiring several more stock and conversion projects to work on together and enjoy over the last two years. Sadly my Father passed away two months ago. There are still some exciting projects to finish, but because this one was done awhile ago and changes in priorities, we need to let this one go. This is a great car with a lot of attention to detail that I know the new owner will enjoy.
One of the photos shows a new gas tank prior to installation, but then photo 106 shows the original tank in the car. Please clarify.
Also, are the back seats currently in there with seat belts? Can't tell from the photo.
Thanks
Do you have the paint code (for future touch up)

@Tgeverywhere After a two year long build process, I was able to do everything that I wanted to it!
@jsfried18 the car is stunning. I started down the path and concluded I was better off buying something that someone had already put some good thought into. Love the color combo. Celebrating a big birthday in a few weeks. This would be the perfect marker.

I wanted to recap and bring insight into this amazing build. When I acquired the car in 2019 the car was taken to TRE Motorsports for a year long resto-mod transformation by Dave Bouzaglou. TRE has been building custom 911’s for the last 40 years and built Rob Dickinson’s first backdate before he started singer. He is also responsible for building many of Magnus Walker’s cars. This transformation included a full steel backdate conversion with S/T flares. Later the car was shipped to Chicago to diminish the build which included Eurosport Racing dialed in the suspension, gauges, wiring, and more. The interior utilizes Italian leather and blue houndstooth fabric. The interior utilized Italian leather sourced from Desser Torino and trimmed by Carbone liveries, Desser Torino and Achtung Kraft. In addition to the complete restomod, I will be including a complete original exhaust for california buyers smog needs, extra matching leather and houndstooth, original jack and spare tire, new oem Porsche tool kit or original SC tool kit.
@Ramy11 Thank you for your interest! Yes, I have nearly all the paperwork and receipts for the build! As for the motor and transmission they are both build to spec for an 89 Carrera. The only modifications to the motor are the SSI heat exchangers, Dansk Muffler and Steve Wong DME chip.
Hi, beautiful car. Do you have all the paperwork for the build for purposes of being able to replace parts in the future for maintenance/repairs? Are the 3.2 and G50 stock or has work been done to modify them?
@eozargun Absolutely! Shoot me a private message with your phone number and we can arrange that!
is it possible to see the car for an inspection?
Well, I spoke with California DMV representative on the telephone yesterday and she advised that any car that’s not a California car brought in from any other state will require smog testing and certificate for registration ownership and legal driving in California
My question was about your car as well as another 1970 backdated luck Porsche. and I received a lot of comment saying I was absolutely 100% wrong
To those two commenters, I reiterate, these are not my opinions. This is what I was told by California DMV.
As I tried to deal with unsuccessfully with my 2020 super formants Shelby cobra, you may be able to deal with CARB and or BAR to acquire some kind of exception, and or SB 100 and or you may have to install a cat and do that I don’t know
I just know from experience that DMV is not that knowledgeable About these kinds of things, and it would be a process for sure here in California
I was priced out of the other Porsche. and I will most likely be priced out of this one, but wish everyone good luck
Just added a new cold start video! This was taken after the car had been sitting for several days without being started.
@jsfried18 :) Right? She handled it well. Smooth sailing.
@ScottFromIowa I certainly wasn't happy about that one hiding but luckily it was under a 3mph!
Love the back date and love the video! Made me chuckle when you hit that huge pot hole. Chicago, where indeed rape and murder are just a shot away. GLWYS. Carfection in this build.
Bid in the amount of $57,000
@73tiguy Thanks for the info. In that case I'm happy to provide the additional exhaust to make that easier for the buyer.
@jsfried18 California SMOG - I believe that you can have the motor CARB / BAR approved, but it's a process :) It would most likely need a catalyst installed. Once it's done and you have that sticker your golden.
@sportscarguy3 I appreciate the kind words! You would have to check with California as I am not familiar with their laws. The car does not have catalytic converters however if that is something you wanted to add I do have the original exhaust! I'd be happy to include that if needed.
Wow, what a clean build
I have been very fortunate over the years to enjoy several different kinds of Porsches., on my carpenters budget
That said , recently, my dream has been revised to include a backdated Porsche. like this
Other than perhaps the fabric inserts at the interior I don’t think there is anything that I would change as far as the build on this handsome backdated Porsche.
Wondering if the existing exhaust and tune would pass California smog?
Definitely be watching and dreaming
Good luck all
It is hard to see in pictures however the houndstooth is blue!
