Boasting iconic 1980s design cues with sleek, aerodynamic lines and a mid-engine layout, the 308’s bodywork was styled by Leonardo Fioravanti of Pininfarina, who is also responsible for some of Ferrari's most celebrated designs including the F40. Introduced in 1980, the 308 GTSi was the first of the 308's to feature Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. Fewer than 2,000 examples are reported to have been produced before the introduction of the 308 Quattrovalvole in 1982. This example comes finished in Rosso Corsa over black leather upholstery. Having spent time in Texas and Massachusetts, this well-maintained GTSi is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York with less than 80k miles on the odometer.
The 308 GTSi features distinctive pop-up headlights and black louvers on the engine cover. This Targa-topped Spider comes finished in the traditional shade of Rosso Corsa and rides on 16” magnesium wheels dressed in Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires from 2017. A set of aftermarket Vitaloni mirrors have been mounted, the rear valance was removed, and minor signs of road wear are noted. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents black leather upholstery contrasted with red piping. A gated 5-speed manual shifter is located between the two seats and a leather three-spoke MOMO steering wheel sits ahead of analog Veglia instrumentation. All gauges and accessories are reported to be working properly although the air conditioning system does not blow cold.
The mid-mounted 2.9-liter Tipo F105 V8 DOHC engine features four valves per cylinder and Bosch K-Jetrontic fuel injection. As much as 240 HP and 192 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a gated 5-speed manual transaxle. A service invoice from 2018 shows replacements of the cam bolts and tensioner bearings as well as cam timing adjustments. The seller states a recent service was carried out including new rear sway bar bushings and light oil spotting is noted after the vehicle is parked.
This sale will include a clean title and some documentation.
The seller would like you to know: “This car was purchased from the original owner of 30 years. The car has been serviced regularly. I just had a recent major service. The car is in excellent condition- runs and drives great. The car comes with books, manuals, documents, car, history, and original spare tools. The car is all original all matching.”

Any update on the service paperwork? If you do not provide it by auction close, will you be able to before the sale is finalized?
@franbar hi the car has been in the states all of its life it has passed smog before, it will pass smog no problem, I can also give you a reference to the shop that I use to do smog in California, they will take care of anyone I refer. Yes IT’s registered, it has a regular title and it is registered just like any other US car, Ty
If this car is a euro car it has no smog items on it how will it ever pass smog to run on the street does it have current registration, in California it is hard to get smog done with out this items. It has a inspection performed
Thank you for your response
@franbar shipping would be about 800-1000
I have a exhaust cover I can include, Ty
Bid in the amount of $17,250
Bid in the amount of $17,000

Bid in the amount of $16,000
Do you have a shipping cost to orange county, CA. Thought you might know. Also is it missing the exhaust cover. I have one on all mine? thank you
Bid in the amount of $15,250
@franbar hi I can do a private sale or I can do a dealer transaction it’s up to the buyer, and no there is no rust on the car, as far as the original paint it looks to be very original but I’m not 100% sure, NO there are absolutely no accidents and there are NO dents. The car is in excellent condition. I do not know if it has been smog, but the previous owner did assured me it would pass smog if it had to. Thank you.
@CarCollector48 hi the car is currently at Pcar facility. I am having them go over to check again for records and I’ll reach out to the owner as well to see if maybe he forgot to include them with the car but there are records with the car he just did a full service on the car. The dates are on most of the parts as well. You can see everything was done. Ty
Is this private or dealer sale? Original paint? How bad is the rust layer underneath? Any accidents or dents repainted?
Has it been smoged for sale? Looks like it is missing the exhaust cover in rear?
Thank you
@seller can you please upload receipts of the last couple of service records? Many people have been asking.. Thank you
Bid in the amount of $15,000
Bid in the amount of $6,500
@Clubracer6 I know we unscrewed oil filter and screwed it back on so that may be what the drops are but there’s definitely no leaks, the car is in oyster, New York at the Pcar facility. And yes I can do a private party sale. And those are the only mirrors that come with the car. Ty
Sorry, I wish I could edit my question, but meant to ask if the factory mirrors are included as well. Thanks again
@prmnorton1 The ad mentions a small drop when the car is parked, which is why I asked. Where is that coming from? Also where in NY? I though it was in Midlothian. Can the sale be a private party sale or does it have to run through your dealership? Thank you!
@Clubracer6 hi there is no leak anywhere, paint is in excellent condition, I don’t know if it’s original or not, yes the car comes with records and docs and books and manuals and tools and Jack and spare, yes the pump and belts were done along with a few other items as well as fluids, Ty
@Steele1971 Ny
Hello, what else can you tell us about the paint? The meter readings seem to be all over the place, unless I am reading it wrong. Any idea where the oil leak is coming from and can you confirm it is actually oil and not coming from the gear box? Will the car come with all service records from the previous owner? Was the water pump belt done with the big service 5 years ago or more recently? Thank you!
Is the car located in VA or NY?
I like the euro spec over the us spec any day.
Less regulations better performance, plus you don’t have the god awful American park bench bumpers. When the cars came through DOT THEY TOOK MOST THE FERRARI OUT OF THE CAR
@Fynmere can you walk us through what that means for the value of the vehicle?
Bid in the amount of $6,250
@damdfw So , I reached out to previous owner and It is a euro spec car which is definitely a good thing. I didn’t know, The look is a lot better and I think it has a little bit more horsepower ad well thank you for the insight!
I believe the US spec cars had U shaped vents on the back deck. This one looks like the Euro back deck.

Bid in the amount of $5,500
@sspbcski you’re welcome. I’ll look through everything and see if I can get some records posted. Thank you.
Thanks Ty. Also, do you have the service records from the previous owner. It would be nice to see the last several service invoices posted to the photos.
@sspbcski yes it does have the catalytic converter it’s been in the US for all of its life, from what I’ve been told, so I’m not sure if it’s a euro model or not but I’m trying to confirm with a guy that had it up for about 30 years, Ty
Very nice 308. Do you know if the car has a catalytic converter, since it appears to be a euro model? The car would not pass emissions in my states without a catalytic converter. Thanks.
Bid in the amount of $5,250
@Fynmere That is important info you shared! Much appreciated.
@Mdemartine222 yeah I’ll get them to post under pics, yeah that’s correct. The timing belt was done as well. Ty
@Fynmere can you post pics of the undercarriage? Also I’m assuming the cam service had the timing belt change as well??
Bid in the amount of $5,000
@Fynmere OK cool sounds good. Thank you for all the information I appreciate it.
@prmnorton1 Much appreciated with checking. That said, I ran the VIN # (before I posted I should've done that!) and the 8th digit being a "B" means that it was originally a Left-Hand Drive, Europe (market) car; further the 4th digit is an "H" which means the V-8 is a Euro version of the engine (F106B). So effectively this car going back to 1983 was a Texas registered grey market example as best I can tell.
Also missing is the US spec required manufacturers plate on the driver door sill. Euro 308s don't have a manufacturer's plate on the drivers door frame - that was a US requirement. Most gray market imports mounted a pseudo plate for US Federal compliance purpose, but often not riveted on like those a fixed by Ferrari S.p.A. So aftermarket ones can get lost. Maybe you can ask the prior owner as to what he knows about it being a grey market import. These cars were incredibly popular at the time so lots came in from other markets. Thanks, Peter
@Fynmere I’ll have to check. I’m pretty sure it’s an all original car. But I’m not as knowledgeable on these honestly, don’t think there’s been any modifications on it but I can ask the previous owner. I’ll check back for the record as well. Thanks I appreciate it!
Do you have records for when the Euro rear bumper was installed and the front spacers taken out to make it look Euro? She really presents very nicely.
