Introduced in 1977 at the Geneva Motor Show, the original Porsche 928 is a grand tourer that combines the performance of a sports car with the comfort of a luxury sedan. This 1981 example is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission and benefits from the adoption of electronic fuel injection introduced the year prior. Finished in Light Blue Metallic over Dark Blue leather upholstery, it has been under the care of the seller for approximately 10 years and kept in a climate-controlled garage. This well-presented 928 is now being offered for auction out of Kentucky accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

charlliehancock - so, the ONLY known issues are 1) AC not working? and 2) Temp gage not working? Any others? Also, 3) any cracks in Pod or separations/tears in leather dash? Close up photos please? 4) and service records from the last 10 years please.
Carfax has 32,468 on 5/27/2016; 32,575 two and a half years later (added 107 miles) on 12/5/18; and then an anomalous reading of ~7,000 fewer miles in June 2025. If picture 33 is correct, then 32,589 is an addition of 14 miles in almost 7 years (Dec 2018 to today). On the other hand, a reading over 900,000 miles would have been well over 100K miles per year for the last 7 years, with the coincidence of the last five digits being 32,584. Seller - can you clarify please? WIth thanks-
@charlliehancock
Which one is accurate and currently reflected on the odometer, 032589 shown in photo 33 or 932584 shown in photo 60? Also, were you planning on charging the A/C to know for sure if it works so the potential buyer can add that expense into the sale?
AC does not currently blow cold and temp gauge not reading but never overheating and always a fair weather sunroof open car for me so never tacked or even charged AC. Everything else/all other accessories are 100%.
Thanks
@g1hound Sorry for the delayed response and thanks for your interest. It runs great and super strong all the way up to 6k. I’ve changed oil and timing belt, etc. with regular exercise albeit little mileage. Part of a 50 plus car collection. Available for a drive/inspection anytime! It’s super clean dead straight zero rust and I believe mileage to be 100% accurate.
I will respond further tomm a.m..
Nice looking 928! Love the color, especially the interior; my first 928 was a 1981 with this same color blue interior and original 15" phone dial wheels, brings back fond memories.
A few questions for the seller: Can you comment on the odometer readings shown in the photos? 032589 shown in photo 33. 932584 shown in photo 60.
In addition the engine photos requested by another potential bidder, can you also add pics of the spare tire area under the rear carpet? Photos of the top side of dash and pod would be helpful as well, to show any cracks or leather shrinkage.....or lack thereof.
Thanks!
Front driver side fender has been resprayed, and the front end chin spoiler mentioned in the description that may have been optioned with the car and present upon delivery, but is not shown in any of the photographs. Vehicle profile pics needs images of the engine, please add.

In this modern age of online auctions - how can you make an auction live without any videos to disclose condition?
Please share additional content.
Hello. Can we get videos of the car? (Inside- including all functions, outside, cold start, and driving)
does the car run? any videos of the car starting/driving? Any known serious issues with engine that need to be addressed by buyer? Has the engine been maintained over past 10 years? Has the car been driven over past 10 years? sorry for all the questions, but it's hard to find 928 in decent condition these days.
