Designed in-house by Volvo and largely built by Bertone in Turin, Italy, the Volvo 262C was produced from 1977 through 1981 and replaced the P1800, with approximately 6,600 examples built in total. This 1980 Volvo 282C is finished in Coronado Gold over a beige leather interior and spent its first 20 years as a turn-table display model in a Florida Volvo dealer before joining a private Volvo collection. Features include power-operated accessories, heated front seats, air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, cruise control, and more. This rare Volvo is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Canada while showing just under 21k miles on its odometer.
The 262C was designed by Jans Wilsgaard, and the roof pillars, roof pan, windshield surround, cowl, and upper parts of the doors were built by Bertone. This example is finished in Coronado Gold and was refinished to correct fading. The headlights have been upgraded with LED bulbs and it rides on a set of factory alloy wheels which come dressed in a set of Goodride Radial SP06 tires bearing date codes from 2011. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is upholstered in beige tufted leather with matching door panels and is accented by wood trim. Amenities include an AM/FM radio, power windows and locks, an analog clock, cruise control, air conditioning, and heated front seats. The seller reports that the cabin remains in excellent overall condition and confirms that all gauges, electronics, and accessories remain functional.
Power comes from a PRV fuel-injected 2.8-liter V6 engine which drives the rear wheels by way of a 3-speed automatic transmission. The seller notes that the fluids have been flushed annually and that the car has covered less than 300 miles per year with a strict mileage minimum to keep it in running order. There are currently no outstanding service items.
This sale will include the owner’s literature, three keys, and a clean title.

Boarding this 🇸🇪 Volvo 262C, designed by 🇮🇹 Bertone ( Lamborghini Countach ) is absolutely phenomenal. Everything is straight. Everything works as it should. Bank Vault on wheels. No picture can do Justice to it. Original radio works. Power windows all go down & Up Rapidly no hesitation. Engine starts instantly, and purrs like a cat. And the Drive is what You Expect. No Less.
No More. No Rollback of the odometer. Simple low miles time capsule.
No drama. Just WOW.
UpComing Next Owner will be VERY HAPPY!
@Jaminmonty Thanks for asking. Flawless. Ill request a picture now.
What’s the condition of leather on the driver seat? Can you supply photo without seat cover?
@Krlos70s 262C BERTONE was displayed & rotating on turntable at Volvo Village, Clearwater Florida dealership, for decades as a client’s magnet 🧲 inside the store, before being acquired by current Custodian. Location is Valleyfield, 30 minutes west of Montreal.
There is No ‘Buy Now’ price here. Just register to the site, and drop bids according to Your Level. You will not find a Better specimen on the Planet.
@Krlos70s Sorry, I ment where about in Canadá is this car located?
Where about in Florida is this car located?
Is there a "buy now" price on this one?
I had almost forgotten about this model. Picture nine is the most attractive of all to me.
Pretty darn cool.
@bluemonkey Few times! It will be displayed until bids get inside territory where it will please the Owner, and next Custodian, for a Win Win Happy Middle! 🤝
Just curious...how many times has this car been re-listed on auctions? Nice "seeing" it again, wish the photos were not the exact same set from last year listing. Good luck.
