Approximately 6,600 Volvo 262C were produced from 1977 through 1981 and replaced the P1800. It was designed in-house by Volvo and largely built by Bertone in Turin, Italy. This 1980 example comes finished in Coronado Gold over a beige leather interior and spent its first 20 years as a turn-table display model in a Florida Volvo dealer. Following, it was held as part of a private Volvo collection. Features include power-operated accessories, heated front seats, air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, cruise control, and more. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Canada while showing just under 21k miles on its odometer.
The 262C was penned by Jans Wilsgaard, and the roof pillars, roof pan, windshield surround, cowl, and upper parts of the doors were built by Bertone. Its roof is about 10 cm lower than that of the 260 sedans upon which it is based. This example comes finished in Coronado Gold and was refinished to correct fading. The headlights have been upgraded with LED bulbs and it rides on a set of factory alloy wheels which come dressed in a set of Goodride Radial SP06 tires bearing date codes from 2011. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is beautifully upholstered in beige tufted leather with matching door panels and is accented by wood trim. Amenities include an AM/FM radio, power windows and locks, an analog clock, cruise control, air conditioning, and heated front seats. The seller reports that the cabin remains in excellent overall condition and confirms that all gauges, electronics, and accessories remain functional.
Power comes from a PRV fuel-injected 2.8-liter V6 engine which drives the rear wheels by way of a 3-speed automatic transmission. The seller notes that the fluids have been flushed annually and that the car has covered less than 300 miles per year with a strict mileage minimum to keep it in running order. There are currently no outstanding service items.
This sale will include the owner’s literature, three keys, and a clean title.

Hi AlexBert, thank you for offering this unique time capsule for auction! It is absolutely beautiful. Cool back story based on Lincoln personal luxury coupe. Question, is the ticking sound something of a manifold leak, or something else. Thanks! Dennis

@FUG123 Repainted. Long Story Short: THIS Specimen served / acted as a Bait to Attract New Customers at the Volvo Dealership ( Florida ) summers in Florida can be brutally Hot sometimes. Reason for the Fade. So Current Owner decided to have a Spray, original Color. Car looks and is Fantastic in every possible way.
Bid in the amount of $1,000
Does refinished to correct fading mean it was repainted and not original paint anymore?
