Finished in one of two special paint colors, each Weissach Coupe includes a unique Doric Grey leather interior as well as painted Fuchs wheels, sport shock absorbers, and front and rear spoilers. This example comes finished in Black Metallic and was also optioned with a limited-slip differential when delivered new to German Auto, Inc. of Birmingham, Alabama. It was acquired by the seller from a longtime previous owner in 2019 who had it since 2001 and has since undergone a full rebuild of the engine and transmission. Showing approximately 118k miles on the odometer of which 2,500 have been added under current ownership, this rare Weissach Coupe is now being offered for auction out of Pennsylvania
This 911SC is finished in Black Metallic and includes a front spoiler lip and rear "Whale Tail" Turbo Carrera spoiler as part of the Weissach Coupe option (M439). This option also includes special 15” Fuchs wheels with Platinum Metallic painted centers. The seller notes that most of the car was previously refinished excluding the roof, mirrors, and bumpers. The car rides on a set of two-year-old Raptor tires and exhibits fading clearcoat in some areas. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this Weissach Coupe showcases Doric Grey leather upholstery with special Burgundy piping and matching carpets. A set of custom Coco floor mats have been installed, a vintage Blaupunkt radio is paired with upgraded MB Quart speakers, and both front seats are said to have been previously refurbished. Factory equipment includes an electric sunroof, alarm system, cruise control, and rectangular front fog lights. The rear seats show signs of age and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be working properly.
Up to 180 HP and 175 lb.-ft of torque come from an air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional limited-slip differential. The seller states a complete rebuild of the engine and transmission was completed during their ownership and a proper break-in procedure was observed followed by an oil change and valve adjustment at 2k miles. New front and rear brake hoses were also installed along with an upgraded Griffiths A/C compressor.
This sale will include a clean title.

@VertexAuto thanks for your comment
I have listed invoices from RS-WERKS under photos with everything that was done to the engine and transmission during extensive engine out rebuild.
Bid in the amount of $37,000
It looks like this example has an upgraded aluminum engine fan housing from EPS.

Any other upgrades that you know about?
As we are approaching the end of the auction,I wanted to thank the bidders and commentators for valuable input.This car is special in a sense that it represents an American enthusiasts desire for precision machine that exudes passion for driving. Limited in production numbers it was designed for a few lucky souls in 1980.
@Slim_Chance You are absolutely right. This 2900$ expense was absolutely worth it. Once redone, they are very comfortable for long drives. The drivers body feels hugged!
The seats on these did not wear well at all. Good that they have been addressed. My Platinum car's seats were toast by 1985.

@steve-racer .Thank you They were redone in machine Doric grey leather
@superfast7464 I see now. I guess I was really commenting on the seats. hard color to keep clean and the side bolsters on sport seats are easily worn , yours look nice.
@steve-racer Thank you for your input. Even though it is clean, there are some burn marks from the previous owner chain smoking while driving.
@superfast7464 I had heard the 408 number as well. mine was late in the run 7 /80. your interior looks very clean , good luck with the auction.
@twickes40 It was done by RS-Werks.
Maybe I missed this, but who did the engine and transmission work?
Bid in the amount of $29,000
@sjuhawks19 yes, it is possible.
I'm local, only about 20 minutes away, is there a way I could come see the car in person?
@BLACKWATER Thank you for your comment . It is a red interior and burgundy piping. Special color interior for this limited production model in 1980 one of 200 produced in this color combination specifically designed for US market.
Sorry, due to being half color blind, is the interior highlights read on the doors and rear, or burgundy in the piping? Great looking like car; I LOVE IT!
“Yes, while the promotional literature at the time quoted 400 cars, many sources believe at least 408 to have been produced.”
I have a Weissach edition and I also have the original sales brochure (same one pictured in this listing) which states that only 400 were made for the US market, 200 in black metallic and 200 in platinum metallic. This listing says 468 were imported.
The old "blood and guts" interior looks pretty good still...everything but the tarted up steering wheel stitching. Best of luck with the sale -
