Honoring Porsche’s motorsport research and development center in Weissach, Germany, the 1980 Porsche 911SC Weissach Edition Coupe was produced in a limited run of approximately 400 examples exclusively for the United States market. Finished in Platinum Metallic over a Doric Gray leather interior, this 911SC was delivered to its original owner in April of 1981 and was recently acquired from its second owner out of Kansas City who purchased the car in 1999. Accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity showing a numbers matching engine, this rare 911SC Weissach Edition is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida showing approximately 74k miles on the odometer.
This 911SC is finished in Platinum Metallic (655), one of two unique color choices available for the Weissach Edition. Designated by option code M439, the Weissach Edition also includes a flexible spoiler lip attached to the front air dam as well as a Whale Tail rear spoiler and body-colored 15” Fuchs wheels. The car is believed to have been completely refinished at some point and the seller notes the rubber seals remain in good condition throughout. A new chin spoiler was recently fitted in preparation for sale along with new taillight lenses and seals, fog light lenses, jack plugs, wiper arms and caps, wiper blades, a sunroof seal, and wheel center caps. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The Weissach Edition features special Doric Gray leather upholstery including Sport Seats with red accent piping, red carpets, and a black headliner. This example came factory optioned with an electric sunroof, fog lights, an alarm, cruise control, headlight washers, and stereo with antenna. The cabin shows patina as well as a tear in the driver’s seat, and the seller reports all instruments and accessories to be working properly.
An air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 180 HP and 175 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine has been fortified with upgraded hydraulic chain tensioners as well as an airbox pop off valve. Most maintenance under prior ownership is said to have been completed by a local Porsche mechanic friend, thus very few records were kept.
This sale will include a clean title.

Nice
@seller - Thanks for pointing it out on #102. Not sure how I missed it the first time thru.
Bid in the amount of $35,911
@gfcollins911 Thank you! Let me know if pic #102 is clear/close enough for the seat tear. The headliner is in good shape. No major defects. The tend to be a bit more loose on the sunroof but not much at all and definitely doesn't effect the function of the sunroof. The sun visors are
"drooping". We went ahead and ordered some new ones. They will be arriving later today so the new owner will get the car with new sun visors.
The tires are Toyo Proxy FZ4 Front Size: 195/65-15 Rear Size: 215/60-15
I can't make out the date stamp.

Love the look of this car! A few questions: I couldn't find a clear picture of the driver's seat leather tear. Can you post another or point me to a picture # and location? Also, in picture 134, it appears there is significant "drooping" and wear of the headliner on the sunroof. Could seller comment on the overall condition of the inside of the sunroof? Finally, can you provide the model, size(s) and age of the Toyo Proxes tires? Thank you!

Sorry, I thought the blade arms and blades were replaced. No worries
@AK9eleven Thank you. No damage history to the car at all. Very straight lines all the way around. The AC works and blows like a 1980 911 SC. I'll post a walkaround video here in just a few minutes. Thanks again!
@Davidpoer I'm not sure what you mean by wiper blades and rubber inserts gone. There are several pictures that show the wipe blades with the rubber inserts. To my knowledge, from what both previous owners shared, this car has never been raced.
That's blades and rubber inserts gone, sorry. Wiper blades missing altogether denotes it was raced.
Were the wiper blades rubber inserts going,or in disrepair? Any possible racing history on the car?
Beautiful car. Any damage history? AC work?Videos ? Thanks
