Offered between 1978 and 1983, the 911SC was named the "Super Carrera," powered by a 3.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine. This 1980 example comes finished in white over blue upholstery and features optional Sport Seats. Cared for by the same owner from 1995 to 2023, this 911SC is now available for auction by its seller out of Maine with approximately 213k miles showing in the odometer.
This Coupe is finished in white and rides on 15” Fuchs wheels dressed in older tires. Equipment includes front fog lights, a front chin spoiler, impact bumpers, dual mirrors, a sunroof, and a single exhaust outlet. The seller notes that all gaskets are original and cracked, there is a small rust hole in the driver’s door jamb, and surface rust is shown on the fuel tank. The car is said to have undergone paintwork to address small dings and scratches, and the seller recommends a full refinish. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is appointed with blue leather and features optional Sport Seats. Accessories include a three-spoke steering wheel, power windows, a radio, and extra gauges mounted on the center console. The seller notes that the hand brake warning light stays on most of the time and the air vent controls are malfunctioning, although the gauges are functional. The factory-optioned air conditioning system's compressor was removed after failure, although its other components are present.
The air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six engine generates up to 180 HP to the rear wheels through a 5-speed 915 manual transmission. The seller states the transmission lost 2nd gear in 2004, prompting a rebuild of the engine at 205,000 miles. A detailed list of replaced parts, including bearings, rings, gaskets, and timing chains, is said to accompany the sale. Recently, a rebuilt CDI box was installed, and the vehicle received a tune-up. The seller notes the shifter bushing is worn and needs replacement, and the brake master cylinder is leaking fluid.
This 911 is being offered with a bill of sale and registration.
The seller would like you to know: “After 29 years of fun it is time for the next person to daily enjoy this classic 911!”

Know it’s a little gutsy to take an air cooled car across the country in the summer heat, but it need anything outside the basics to make it down to FL?

@lada03 The state of Maine will not issue a replacement as we do not need a Title for cars older then 1995, we have tried. We haven't encountered any problems selling cars with the transfer of ownership on the registration in the past.
Hi
Can you request a new title from the DMV?
Or a bonded title?
Great thank you,
now my main anxieties are the rusted through driver's and passenger side door shuts,
hard to tell the extent from your picture.
GLWTS
@eurocol the fuel tank does have a small spot of surface rust where the undercoating was rubbed off but it does not leak.
Bid in the amount of $16,000
hi there,
Interesting project car,
I was looking at picture # 75, the gas tank appears to have holes in it,
can you please confirm that it does not leak when you have a full tank,
many thanks,

If this doesn’t make reserve, please place this in the Owls head auction!
What a great area to drive this car around in, hope the owner had many years of enjoyment.
@Squiremotors Truly a sad reason to have to sell the car. Thank you for your willingness to help and to be responsive to all potential bidders.
@Nomikeal I'm completely in sync with you! Drive it like you stole it...then put Humpty Dumpty back together when needed! I used to take a lot of photos when traveling...until the day that I realized that I didn't want to remember my trip through the viewfinder...then I stopped completely and just travelled and enjoyed. Let the 20,000 mile car become the garage queen.
I wouldn't restore this car other than mechanical function. It's a very impressive survivor and there are too many restored or garage queened 911s out there. Keep as is and put another 205k miles on it!
@jng1984 The known things to be addressed are what we have listed in the ad, vent controls, shifter bushings, brake master seems to weep fluid. Other then that it is a great driving car that has been driven sparingly over the last few years.
We are able to do a compression and leakdown here and any other specific thing you may want checked.
We have cared for the car for the owner for about 5 years but he has been in a nursing home for about a year now. Some of these issues have come from that year of sitting. We have driven the car for about 400 miles in the last month.
videos should be up now!
hey @squaremotors - outside of the clear need for body/aesthetic TLC and restoration, what sorts of mechanical concerns or other daily driver items on the list of things-to-do / needs attention can you share or envision for next owner?
can your shop perform leakdown/compression?
cold start/driving videos on the way?
