The Mercedes-Benz Unimog 416 stands out as a robust and adaptable off-road vehicle manufactured by Mercedes-Benz, renowned for its exceptional performance across diverse terrains and applications. Originally serving as a fire truck in France before being imported to the US, this 1980 single-cab example has been refinished in red with a black vinyl interior. It comes equipped with heavy-duty features including a hydraulic winch, air-activated under-drive system, locking front and rear differentials, portal axles, a hydraulic-powered tilting bed, and more. With less than 22k kilometers (less than 14k miles) shown on the odometer, this Unimog is currently available for auction by its seller out of Texas.
The truck has been repainted in red to address paint fading and has a history of serving as a fire truck in a small French town. Exterior features include body-color wheels, a white-painted roof, dual side mirrors, and a heavy-duty hydraulic-powered winch. The seller mentions that the truck bed is currently missing from the bed frame, and detailed images are available in the gallery.
The cab showcases front bucket seats, with exposed metal surfaces coated in the body color. The seller mentions that both the seats and door panels have undergone reupholstering. Steering duties are managed by a two-spoke steering wheel, surrounding VDO instrumentation, including a 120-km speedometer, auxiliary gauges, and a tachometer. The seller highlights that not all gauges and electronics are currently operational.
A 5.7-liter OM352A turbodiesel inline-six engine sends power to all four wheels via a manual transmission offering 16 forward gears and 8 reverse. It includes a full-time four-wheel-drive system with differential locks on both axles. The seller highlights recent maintenance, which encompasses an oil and filter change, gear oil replacement, alternator rebuild, voltage regulator replacement, and front brake service.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Very low mileage and low hour 416 Unimog.”

I have never tried to operate the winch
Currently the fuel gauge , oil pressure and temp gauge are inop
