This final-year Mercedes-Benz 450SL is finished in Silver Blue Metallic over Blue upholstery and features a 4.5-liter M117 V8 engine paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. It comes equipped with a removable body-color hardtop, automatic climate control, power windows, cruise control, a central locking system, 15” Bundt alloy wheels, a Becker Mexico AM/FM stereo, and more. Reportedly garage-kept since new and driven sparingly, this 1980 Mercedes-Benz 450SL is now being offered for auction out of Canada with under 45k kilometers (~28k miles) shown on the odometer.
This example is finished in Silver Blue Metallic (930) and features a removable body-color hardtop, a dark blue convertible soft top, chrome-accented mirrors and bumpers with black impact pads, quad headlamps, front fog lights, an automatic antenna, and heat-insulating glass. It rides on 15” Bundt alloy wheels wrapped in General AltiMAX tires bearing 2020 and 2024 date codes and with minimal wear. The right front fender, right door, and left rear quarter panel were refinished by a Mercedes-Benz dealer, and the windshield was replaced with an OEM unit. Cosmetic flaws noted by the seller include small dents on the driver-side door trim and top of the bumper, as well as a light scratch on the rear decklid from the hardtop. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is upholstered in Blue MB-Tex with matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Wood trim accents the center console and dash, and amenities include power windows, cruise control, a Becker Mexico AM/FM stereo, and an upgraded air conditioning system. The seller notes the speedometer reads approximately 10 km/h higher than the actual speed at 120 km/h, and the cruise control does not function properly. All other gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.
Power comes from a fuel-injected 4.5-liter M117 V8 engine factory-rated at 160 HP and 230 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 3-speed automatic transmission, and stopping power is facilitated by power-assisted disc brakes at each corner. Additional equipment includes power steering and an independent suspension with coil springs and front and rear stabilizer bars. The seller reports that the oil was last changed in July.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a spare tire, a car cover, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I had this car for mostly 4 years. I did not use it very much but each time I had comments from people about the impeccable condition. Oil has been changed in last July.”
