Inspired by the classic Lotus Seven, the Saber Seven is a limited-production, high-performance sports car designed by H&S Engineering, embodying a modern take on the lightweight, minimalist roadster concept. This 1980s example is powered by a Ford-sourced 2.3-liter inline-four engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and is refinished in green and yellow over a black interior. It features Kirkey bucket seats, a roll bar, a custom header, coilovers, aftermarket 14” alloy wheels, stainless steel front brake lines, an aluminum fuel tank, a rear-mounted spare tire, an IDIDIT steering column, and a Nardi steering wheel. This Saber Seven is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Maine.
This example showcases an open-wheel, open-cockpit appearance reminiscent of the original Lotus Seven, featuring a lightweight body mounted on a tubular steel chassis. It was refinished in green and yellow approximately two years ago and features fender-mounted headlamps, a roll bar, wind wings, dual side mirrors, and side-exit exhaust outlets. A set of silver-finished 14” alloy wheels come wrapped in General Altimax tires from 2018. The seller notes minor paint imperfections, and detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features Kirkey bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl and fitted with Pro Series harnesses. It includes a replacement black-finished aluminum dashboard, black carpeting, a wood-trimmed Nardi steering wheel, and Speedway Motors gauge instrumentation. The seller notes that the water temperature gauge does not match the others, and the gas gauge sender could benefit from replacement as it reads 3/4 full when the tank is full. Additionally, the wiring harnesses have been replaced with a Painless Performance wiring system, and an IDIDIT steering column has been installed. All other electronics and gauges are confirmed to be working properly.
Power is provided by a 2.3-liter inline-four Lima engine sourced from a Ford Mustang, which sends power to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. Performance enhancements include a custom stainless steel exhaust manifold connected to a side-exit exhaust system. The suspension has single and double adjustable aluminum QA1 shocks and tubular upper and lower A-arms.
This sale will include a spare tire, a tonneau cover, spare fuel pumps, mufflers, original gauges and shocks, rear wheel spacers, and a bill of sale.
The seller would like you to know: “Fun, fair weather car. Really handles well, like a go-kart.”

I have the wipers for the car. They aren't installed because they're a bit ugly and in effectual. The wiper "system" works. The covered hole is where the original exhaust came out when the stock cast iron manifold was used.
I know these are fair weather cars but why are the wipers removed for the photos? Did they stop working? I see a hole for a different exhaust in the right hand side. What was there before?
It is very yellow.
@87lotus7even the listing says "refinished in green and white approximately two years ago" but the nose is yellow in the pictures. Can you clarify?
Thanks for the info, now I just gotta look into how much of a headache it would be to convert a bill of sale into a title here so I can drive on the roads.
I'm 5'11" and I fit fine. My shoe size is 9.5 and the toe box is quite narrow...you have to pay attention to where things are. No videos coming. I live where it might take a year to down load videos. As to cold start. The carb has an automatic choke so it's easy to start "cold"
How is the fit on this build for tall/big footed people? Any driving/cold start vids coming?
Lotta' fun for not a lotta' money. Most parts are at your NAPA store.
Hard to find a car that’s more fun to drive. I’ve had three over the years. The 1700cc Ford crossflow motor was the most user friendly. Not the fastest - that’s my 2 liter Z Tech motor. Enjoy the ride and good luck with this sale.
